Intel said that computers based on its Haswell and Broadwell processors (the fourth and fifth generation, respectively) began to reboot frequently after the company released updates on January 4. They had to protect the device from the vulnerabilities Meltdown and Specter.

Intel added that users should not refuse to install security updates related to the vulnerability of processors. If necessary, the company is ready to distribute updates "on its own regular channels."

Intel CEO Brian Krzhanich on January 9 promised that all devices based on the company's processors will receive the necessary security updates by the end of the month.
