My general understanding is for development purposes and stability Mac is the better option, and also for security it is better. Then for basially everything else PC is the better option mostly due to more wide-spread adoption, so a huge percentage of software is made compatible for PC before ever considering if it will work on Mac. Usually if it's a big project a Mac port comes later down the line or sometimes is already there, but other times the port never gets made and PC is the only option (outside of emulation). It's a little ironic actually that the better choice for development has fewer people developing for it.
