We've known for a long time that the ocean contains more mineral resources than land does. It's pretty cool to see Sea Floor mining get underway.
I'd like to see the plan for 'rehabbing' the sea floor before I get too supportive. It should be relatively easy to return the sea floor to something like it's original condition and that the same organisms that depend on it today could depend on it after. If that's the case, I all in favor or the undersea mining.
Because the whole truth is that we need more minerals. If we are going to continue and/or expand our world it will take more minerals. Think of how much lithium and copper it will take to provide clean energy to the world!

I agree that it does seem cool. Your idea of 'rehabbing' is a very good one. Before we allow people to potentially destroy the underwater ecosystem can we first at least have a demonstration as to what measures are put in place to make it as low impact as possible and what methods are there to contain and clean things up if need be before simply moving onto the next site. Good points here!
