Drone fans??? UBER OCTODRONE, next to Phantom!!

Hey everyone, it is no secret I am a massive tech fan, just love it. The other day I was browsing a few gadget type shops to look at a few camera's on the market (not that I can yet afford one) for my new (African Photography) adventure. Hoping to be able to get there in 6 months or less. Never the less I stumbled upon this beauty.

As far as I knew the latest phantom was the best most comprehensive drone on the market. I did a TV cameo a few months ago and that is what they used to film the aerial shots so I really didn't think it got any better than that, but alas it did, in a big way and here she is...

This unit will set you back a cool R120 000 ZAR ($10 000) and that is excluding the camera and transmitter, rather cheap right? NOT!

Upon further research I learnt that these drones are used for everything from crop spraying to power line maintenance.

Here we have some serious electronics to make it all come together and work in perfect synergy.

For more on the technical specs on this unit do check out this side. You can even add a device on for detecting methane I am guessing for mining/geological purposes. This add-on costs a $55 000.

Below we have a comparison of size if you are familiar with the phantom you will know how big this DJI is, very impressive indeed.

As per youtube below we have the unit taking off flying and landing. Impressive stuff I was expecting it to be far noisier.

That is super cool, I like drones a lot too. I have a drone but it is very small and doesn't have a camera on it.

Well always to get hands on one of these ;)

Well hope so in the near future ;)
