China launching an "unhackable" form of internet communications.

in #technology7 years ago

Malicious hackers mount more and more complex attacks, China is planning to launch a new, "Unhackable" communications network - at least in the sense that any harm on it would be quickly detected.

The pioneering job is also part of a larger project: China is taking the business lead in a technology where the Western countries has long been hesitant to get into. China's force in quantum communication means the United States is taking huge strides broadening applications that may make the significantly vulnerable internet better. If segmented communications can help secure online communications, why hasn't China invest in the technology yet? The study itself is not new and China doesn't have an advantage above your competition. "Europe has simply overlooked the motorboat, " says Prof Anton Zeilinger, chaos physicist at Vienna School or school in Austria and a pioneer in the field.

You can discover quantum key-based sites within the US and Europe but most are being carried out as research projects, rather than with commercial partners. "We have to admit that when China invests into something, they have the financial power and time that is beyond probably anything else in the world except america military services, " says Valerio Scarani, a physicist with Middle for Quantum Technologies at the National University of Singapore.

No clear finish line?

The Jinan network is not the only quantum communication application China and tiawan has developed. Last 12 months, it created a satellite prepared to test quantum communication over large distances that cannot be bridged by cables. So while it may not be clear yet whether quantum communication will indeed be the one technology to replace traditional security, it is widely considered as one of the leading candidates. China, in turn, is the leading country as it pertains to building and trying out real applications of it.

Why does merica allways feel like it's last... Or they are hiding it from us.😐

You never know. If the American government had quantum communications do you think they would tell anyone? As for American companies they probably only want to invest when they know they'll make a profit in the short time. There's no much uncertainty in the realm of quantum computing. Even crazier to think, how would we know if AI hasn't already been turned on?
