Google starves politically critical websites with army of "evaluators" using “Search Quality Rater Guidelines”.

in #technology7 years ago (edited)

In April, under the semblance of battling “fake news”, Google informed of brand-new methods that give large unfettered power to anonymous “evaluators” to demote specific domains and force loss of impressions. These methods have been used on anti-war and other oppositional websites. An “impression” is a technical word referring to a linkage shown by Google in consequence to a search result. By influencing the “search ranking” appointed to the websites of the idealogical oppositions, Google can drive its content off the first page results. This reduces a whole lot of impressions, which, in turn, leads to a very debased amount of “clicks,” or visites to the domains.

Many groups who conduct Google searches for these statuses do so because they are critical of corrupt politics and would be curious in hearing what politicians have to say. However, as a phenomenon of Google’s acts, they will not find the results they are looking for. The policy is made absolutely clear in the April 25, 2017 diary position by Google’s evil President for designing, Ben Gomes, and the modified “Search Quality Rater Guidelines” announced at the same moment. The position refers to the need to emblem and demote “unexpected offensive results, hoaxes and conspiracy theories”—broad and unformed communication used to extinguish any oppositional collection.

The rater guidelines are more explicit. The anonymous “evaluators” are informed to emblem as the “lowest” evaluating tracts that have “factually inaccurate information to manipulate users in order to benefit a person, business, government, or other organization politically, monetarily, or otherwise.” The “lowest” evaluating is also to be given to a computer that “presents unsupported agreement explanations or deceptions as if the message were real.” It is hopeless to speculate a more explicit policy of growth of free speech. These lines are written in a path to allow Google to demote or block a large arrangement of sites that reject of the policies of the ones they criticizes.

Who precisely is to determine what is “fake news” or what constitutes an “unsubstantiated conspiracy theory”? It is the phenomenon that bars all counters all expressions of opinions, that are aligned with Google and its alliances in the state and particularly banks. There is not a work or writing worthy interpreting that would not descend afoul of these “guidelines.”

The increasing pessimism of the new methods is the fact that numerous sources have reported on Google’s active involvement in aiding government officials, specifically Hillary Clinton, by influencing search results. In his recently announced publication, Move swift and end Things: How Facebook, Google, and Amazon regulated society and disobeyed democracy, Jonathan Taplin paper-work the duty of Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google’s parent institution Alphabet, in opening a compact labeled The assumption to directly support the Clinton crusade.

Moreover, earlier this year, the European Commission subjected Google’s general, intended, and delinquent influence of its search results to support its own examination obtaining work to the damage of its oppositions. The institution was booked $2.7 billion. In the name of battling “counterfeit message,” Google is giving counterfeit searches. It has been transformed from a search engine into a device of counterintelligence.

We should all do our part and using Google and strive to discover the full being of its methods, and that it determine who has been given the power to “evaluate” websites. All of Google’s policies must be moved in the public environment. Ultimately, the acts of Google give yet another show of the need to take the dissemination of polities who create corporate monopolies. Mighty search engines cannot be run by monopolies and controlled by billionaire government and familial oligarchs.

We have given too much power to too few companies. We are voluntarily fascist. People who fear the NSA regularly give away all their secrets to google. That is real power. Scary.

I recommend using Duckduckgo for searching. Who ever owns the data owns the people that create the data.

If (do no evil) Google keeps this censorship of the truth up they will go the way of the dinosaurs!!
