The first founding document of the new virtual-nation, constitutional protocol has yet to be written. But some where in its code will certainly be the phrase "we hold these truths to be self-evident".
This new nation will owe no allegiance to geography or clams of land. Instead, from the interconnected web of communication, a community will arise. Through the exchange of like-minded ideas, personal bonds will form. What will emerge may ensure the survival of the human spirit.
But, just as likely, the human spirit might be absorbed into the bonds of slavery. Shackles fashioned buy the very same virtual-infrastructure and the algorithms that breed and live there.
Only the buy the unfurling future will this tale of triumph or woe be scripted into the block-chain of history.
If the human spirit can prevail, by good and with grace, the universal ledger will mark mankind for all time. The mark will be, "children of God".
