Yes steemit needs a down vote button!!

I actually really liked Slashdot's model, where they attempt to never delete a post. It happened once that I recall (although I'm not there much these days), when someone posted a Scientology manual, and they sued.

Other than that, posts could be "modded to oblivion" but users could still configure their reading threshold so they could read everything, if they so chose.

My huge problem with child porn is that it is the only instance where possession of evidence of a crime, is an additional crime. Pictures of a car crash? No problem. Even pictures of a raped and murdered adult? No problem.

And it's made much worse with the new revelations of #pizzagate / #pedogate -- because the "elite" like to bugger little children, so they made it a crime to investigate them! Show the police that you've gather intel to put an elite away, and guess what? You're put away. Very clever of them, but rather transparent to critical thinkers.

I think the piracy issue is a real one as well, though; I see a lot of "cheetahs". :)

That's what I think the real problem is, anyone still has the power to view posts. No matter how much they are downvoted or hit by powerful people, they still exist, and in the current state of Steemit, they always will!

Right now Steemit is illegally hosting some content, and I fear for the site if this amount of content keeps growing.

I hadn't heard about those two tags you posted... I will read a bit about them now though. It's terrible how some parts of society are so corrupt that people can get away with things like this.

I've seen a lot of cheetahs too! But surprisingly not on any music videos or movies.. Maybe I just missed them!

I think @cheetah only evaluates text. Which is how I was surprised to find one of my posts flagged, which had an affiliate link in it -- I did exactly what Craig Grant had done, except that his post was a link to a YouTube video, and the affiliate link was both in the video and also in text form in the video's Description.

I felt slighted, but now I better understand how it works. And, there's opportunity for it to improve!

I actually didn't even know it converted those tags into links, very useful, thanks! :)

Oh wow, really? That's pretty bad... Hopefully they have managed to iron out some of the problems! If that's still the case, that's quite a problem :/

So let me get this right, cheetah flagged you because of an affiliate link that was in your post? Or so you think? I never knew that about the bot.

Yeah, there's always room to improve and learn! And if it becomes better, it could be a truly helpful tool for Steemit!

Yeah the cheetah bot is cleverly named, as it goes after people who plagiarize, in other words, "cheaters". :)

Some of my first few posts were "getting my feet wet" and I reposted some news I think, and got to know cheetah's function.

And, I believe I mis-spoke above -- it was someone else, not cheetah, who flagged the affiliate link. Cheetah doesn't do that, I don't think anyway -- I think cheetah only makes a comment. Anyway, take care! :)
