There are numerous apps available today that can help tourists to navigate their way around new areas that they visit on their journey. These apps can enable them to translate almost any language around the world, helping them to read road signs, menus, transportation details, and more.
One startup in California is looking to transform the translation market space in a new way, by attempting to develop a way for travelers to translate their speech using just their own voice. The San Fran startup, referred to as BabelOn, is looking to use speech synthesis technology in order to enable the travelers to speak different languages.
The company has been working on this technology for over a decade now and they expect to have a prototype finally ready within a few months. However, it still could be several years before the project is complete and they turn toward mass production.
At the moment, the group is trying to raise some extra funds on an Indiegogo page, they've already raised about 22 percent of their goal to reach about $30k in funding.

One day, many people could be using this tech for a variety of purposes in order to translate language, in real-time on a Skype call, for virtual assistants, for voice over films and other work with film & game studios etc.
Right now, for those who are traveling who might need some help deciphering the language around them or communicating with someone else who speaks a different language, there are apps like Google Translate, iTranslate, Waygo, Voice Translator, and many others.
Many other translation tools and apps out there focus mostly on the words, but BabelOn is different in placing an emphasis on voice technology.
BabelOn claims that their technology is going to unlock the [full] potential of the human voice, analyzing it in such an accurate way that they are then able to recreate that same voice in any language with their technology.

Like and followed :) Nice post I personally like to learn a little bit of some languages in my spare time for this demand exactly. Also spying on people speaking a foreign language in public is very fun
ive been thinking about taking up learning a new one just for fun lol :)
It is a lot of fun! You get to be a snoop in public. I call myself a trilingual and some lol
Yep, I totally love how I can instantly translate any language to English nowadays. It makes life so much easier. I had no idea what BabelOn was! Thanks for sharing!
good blog - i travel to Japan sometimes and need help with translation -- i hope it becomes easier over time - i am following now and upvoting
Nice to know. 🙃
I would like an ear piece that translates a foreign language coupled with the coice changer. Of ciuese it would be cool if the ear piece have you the translation after you spoke it so that you could speak to the people yourself.
This tech is indeed helpful for tourists . It is impossible to learn a language in a short period of time
Interesting topic that was well done is supported by a vote
This app should be a must have for all the travel loving fellows. Fun raising is somewhat difficult but once people see true potential it will be matter of days to raise this capital.
the way you provide information in your posts and divide it into paragraphs is the most thing that adds value to the post and that's why I follow you and like your all content
Wow what an innovative technology! This is so interesting! Great post :)
These technologies are great beacause you just can't learn every language! have you ever been somewhere for a few days and left without even being able to say hi and thank you in the local langauge? That being said I love learning languages! @doitvolutarily what languages do you speak?
eng & bit of spanish
Italian is pretty cool, easy jump from Spanish
I remembered theres already a translation device that can be used for travel, just pressing the button and recording it, it'll translate after a few seconds. Moreover, its an offline device.
yes saw this awhile back, another helpful option :)
I'm still waiting for shoes that tie themselves. I don't know about you but I'm getting pretty sick of bending down multiple times a day.
would be something to see in action.. lol
Traveling abroad is getting easier and easier with technology these days
and less enjoyable with things like the TSA mucking up what should otherwise have been a peaceful and enjoyable experience lol :)
haha cannot argue with that! but perhaps someday tech can render them obsolete
Wow it's so interesting to heard the valuable info thanks for sharing. upvoted and resteem

That's really cool. I've been using a couple of apps to learn French. However, being able to speak any language with this kind of technology is incredible. It's amazing what we can do, and it's only going to get more amazing.
Hello brother @doitvoluntarily. It is wonderful to have an application to help people know some languages. I also use some translation applications. The concept of language is the communication between human beings. In the past years, man has called the name of things and now the language is the main role in communication. Thank you brother @doitvoluntarily for sharing
( please support my page Your vote is a great honor Thank you brother )
