New HTC vive PRO, three words...OMG

in #technology6 years ago

So those last two years, VR is becoming really affordable, one thing who was a dream in the past, is now a reality.

I own a PSVR, is pretty awesome, but the graphic, the games, and the controller make this new technology almost already old. A lot of wires, lot of loading time and a litte bit of motion sickness can really compromise your VR experience.

But HTC just releases a new model of VR helmet and they already fix some major trouble.

1-Wireless

One of the biggest complains by VR users was the wires, lot of wires, they are everywhere and you can easily get stuck on them! Especially when you move, when you turn around or worse when yours dogs run into it and almost rip off your head. But the new model is wireless, with a frequency of 60 GHZ to improve the smoothness and remove all the lag

(you put the receiver in the top of the helmet and enjoy the ride)

2-New resolution

Ok so this is the biggest improvement is the resolution. To give you an example, the psvr got a resolution per eye of 960X-1080 (already old) and the new Steam HTC PRO has a resolution of 1440X1600, that's a 78% increase compared to the first model of the HTC (who was already better than the PSVR with a 1080x1200 resolution. Just think, watching a movie, or play a really immersive video game with this resolution, this is insane!!

3-The sound

Inspired but the new headphones, the new HTC vive got a noise canceling and a Hi res 3d sound, this is gonna be awesome.

I just can't wait to try this helmet, they didn't announce any price, but some review are coming out

here a good review

78% improvement of screen , sounds like the best part.

really what I dislike the most, was the poor quality of the PSVR :(
