The Equifax hack is a major one! Exposing personal information of 145.5 million people. Apparently LifeLock has now seen a tenfold increase in enrollment since Equifax announced the breach. Perhaps they will be next? How can we protect ourselves?

First, have the expectation that your data is already compromised. Change your habits to look closely at your credit report, credit card statements and notices from financial services regarding a change to your accounts (new accounts, change of email/mailing-address/phone-number, etc.). Be extra careful in giving out personal information (as criminals may contact you and masquerade as a company/agency). If you see something amiss, act immediately.
