Meltdown and Spectre
Two very malicious but interesting viruses are on the loose. These viruses are designed to trick your cpu to load your application data from your system memory and to reveal your secrets on your computer or phone.
The viruses runs on all INTEL cpu's old and new and some newer AMD models. The pair is very difficult to stop because they operate on the firmware level of your hardware.
Patches are being deployed for cpu's and windows, but be warned when you download and install these hardware patches it might slow down your computer significantly.

True, I should use the right terminology, but I try to convey it in layman terms to the average Joe which don't understand the term vulnerability.
