When I had imagined what the future could look like back when I was still young, I had imagined a future where there would be flying cars and hoverboards all around.
What I didn't imagine was drones delivering all kinds of stuff. I mean, the concept of delivering stuff to your homes, even by humans, was a strange idea at the time where I lived.
Fast forward more than a decade and drones are already a reality and from the looks of it, they are helping humans do a lot of impressive stuff. This truly goes to show how a single piece of technology can transform so many industries and in turn, so many lives!
The one area that is only now beginning to get some serious attention, is drone delivering our products to our doorstep. This could forever change how we view shopping and what we consider "late".
Drones Delivering Ice-creams?
Technology is making lives more convenient than ever. Add "not going to the grocery store" to that list. Because soon, drones will be able to bring to you anything you want! Ice-cream...you got it. Cereal.... you got it!!
I read an article recently where it was mentioned that a drone startup called Terra Drone Europe had partnered with Unilever (yes the multinational corporation), to test drone delivery for ice-creams!
The most impressive part is that the technology is already ready. A drone just needs to be fitted with a predetermined path and it will simply follow it and drop the item at the desired location.
Many other companies have been testing out drone deliveries too! Amazong being one of the leaders in this space. Imagine if all of this becomes a reality (which from the looks of it, is going to be very soon).
Our very definition of "late deliveries" could change as we would begin to expect everything within a matter of 10-15 minutes! Now, that's the convenience worthy of a 21st century human being!
