But now another Social media giant is entering into the field of Online video streaming and content sharing. The name is Facebook and it has launched it's online video streaming platform named WATCH.

Facebook already has a section on its application named Video where people can see the video which are shared by other users. But now, Facebook has become determined to take over online video sharing platforms. So, it specifically made a subsection in it's application named WATCH.

Currently, this subsection will be rolled out for some selected users in U.S. and Facebook wants this feature to become hot favorite for every video enthusiast.

How WATCH Works & How It Would Be Different From Youtube?

Watch works by personalizing the watchlists for each users on the basis of their likes, comments and search history and according what their friends or communities are watching. Now users would able to like, comment and connecting on a video's community and a group who is watching a particular video. Facebook's approach connecting with people is somewhat different than Youtube. Instead of providing a search bar, Facebook would use the personalized search history, browsing patterns, video preferences, communities dynamics and trending options to provide best video experience to it's users.

Facebook already has a customer base of 2 Billion users, that means it has enough audience to kick start this platform with ease and may be a strong competitor to Youtube in coming years.
