This is not theoretical. I have seen Amazon pushing stuff to me that I had been discussing with someone else the day prior. This surveillance is complete. Everything we say in the presence of cell phones, or anything else with a microphone, is captured, parsed by AI, recorded, and saved for the use of future generations, without a doubt. All our business plans, our rebellious declarations, private moments with lovers, are all heard and understood by AI.
Most people are vaguely aware of this, but have not actually thought it through. We forget about the microphone in our pocket when we make plans, and this means those plans only go forward at the leave of our overlords. I think a lot of people would be terrified if they actually realized this. Anger being the child of fear, I'm enraged by it.
