About WI-FI

Hello steemian, today I will discuss about wifi, WI-FI is the name of a popular wireless networking technology that uses radio waves to provide wireless high speed internet and network connections. WI-FI is not short for "wireless fidelity". It is simply trademarked term meaning IEEE 802.11x.

A device that can use Wi-Fi (such as a personal computer, video game console, smart phone, tablet, or digital audio player) can connect to a network source such as the Internet via a wireless network access point. Access points (or hotspots) have a range of about 20 meters (65 feet) in the room and more widely outdoors. Hotspot coverage can include an area of room with walls that block radio waves or a few square miles. This can be done by using multiple overlapping access points.

Wi-fi work with uses radio waves, in order to translate data or documents sent through these radio waves, a computer must have a wireless adapter so that it is connected with Wifi. Radio waves in the form of these signals are then sent to the router that serves as a decoder (code translator). After then translated, the data is sent to the Internet network by utilizing ethernet connection. Wifi networks work both ways, each data received over the internet at the same time passing through the router to be code by it on each data packet, then transmitted again in the form of radio signals received by the wireless computer adapter.

WI-FI have many benefits, for example we can access the internet wherever we are and widely available in public places such as coffee shops, airports, restaurants. besides that wifi also doesn't require cables that must be placed in all locations.
