A nice fantasy. Realistically this will hardly ever happen. Most likely in a couple of hundred years homo sapiens the way they exist today would cease to exist. It will be something different - a homo-Deus - a combination of the improved human brain and improved replaceable inorganic organs.
And in a thousand years ... Jes Louise... our descendants will be all over the friendly universe. Maybe they will even regulate the thermonuclear reaction in the Sun and stop it from expanding.
That is if within the next generation we won't blow ourself up. )))

Quite possible to stop the expansion. After all, the expansion is the result of the sun running out of Hydrogen atoms to continue with the fusion process. If we can figure out ways to inject Hydrogen atoms then that should do the trick. We'll figure that out. 4 billion years is a long time.. 😊
