A Long-Awaited Fix for an Unfinished Look
If you recall, when I took delivery of my Cybertruck, the intended wheel covers were missing due to a design issue. That left the wheels looking unfinished, with exposed center wheel locks and lugs that didn’t exactly scream "futuristic truck of the future." On top of that, the color mismatch between the wheels and the truck itself made it look even more off.
I noticed this immediately and didn’t wait around for Tesla to sort it out. Instead, I found some great aftermarket options online, which I’ve been enjoying ever since. They not only cleaned up the look but also made the truck feel more complete.
A Late But Welcome Gift
Fast forward almost a year later, and Tesla is finally making things right—at least for Foundation Series owners. It’s clearly a gesture to keep early adopters happy, especially given the many delays and issues we’ve faced since taking delivery. Owning an early Tesla model is always a bit of an adventure, and while frustrating at times, they do occasionally try to make it up to us with things like this.
Will I Keep Them On?
Since I already have a set of aftermarket wheel covers that I like, I’m not sure if I’ll make the switch permanently. But I’ll definitely give them a try once they arrive—if nothing else, just to see how they compare. Regardless, it’s nice to see Tesla acknowledge the issue and offer a fix, even if it took a while.
Now, if they could just get Full Self-Driving working properly on my truck, that would be an even better surprise…
