Photo of the day: Theatre in the time of corona

in #theater3 years ago (edited)

World Theatre Day is celebrated on March 27th since 1961. when was initiated by the International Theatre Institute.

Due to corona pandemic, in most countries, most of the time during a whole year, theatres were closed; if not, they worked following strict measures which made whole experience weird.

During this year we had many work/does not work changes and this photo is made during "work season". Though, not on every play is like this. This one was interactive, with just 5 ppl that were performers and audience at the same time, put in a squared tent whose sides were projection screen and what we could experience while do whatever in the box, was made by some sort of AI: from people.s faces to FF movement of stars based on real observations; cherry on the top was VR headset, luckily for participants, without Half-life Alyx connected :D

While artists, like many other, are struggling to survive lack of work, we are all now participants in brand new piece in the theatre of life. Yes, ofc, now I will mention politics ;P

Name of the play: Pandemic
Origin of idea (virus) unknown (some say natural, some say artificial)
Genre: drama, horror, thriller
Screenplay and direction: the wealthiest and politicians
Assistants: pharmaceutical companies
Parole: one disease to rule them all
Cast: common people all around the world
Box-office income: uncertain but for sure enormous
Status: ongoing

Happy World Theatre Day with the reminder of how normal theater looked like.
This is review of the contemporary dance play called Wishing machines, made by amazing group of professionals, which portrays struggles with needs, wishes, desires, that are in constant conflict between themselves and with the environment.
