In an effort to refrain from relying on DHF/reward pool support in the future, I've been working on some of my projects switching to ad revenue, primarily google adsense. The hard part, however is to get accepted there as for most of my newer projects there's little activity.
In the near future I'll be hosting a series of contests and awards to make some of these (especially non-profit) projects grow in activity, non-profit meaning they don't benefit me personally, think POSH, Decentmemes, scrobble.life and in a way you could even imagine holozing considering we launched the token fairly.
Some of these sites I do however not want to have ads because it won't make much sense, but they may still be added into the bulk temporarily in order to get accepted for advertising as a whole. I've largely ran some of these projects using the rewards pool in the past, some of them slightly controversial based on who you ask but most deemed okay since the nature of them has been to bring value to hive as a whole and not a specific project/entity.
It'd still be nice however if we can offset some of those costs with ads.
There's a new advertisement for web games I learned about recently called H5 Games Ads by google, it attempts to mimic how ads work in mobile games on the playstore onto website based games. I.e. to get certain boosts/skip some waiting time/etc, you take 10-30 seconds to watch an ad to receive said in-game boost. While testing some mobile games in the past few months as "research", I've encountered that most operate in this way and most players deem it an okay way to obtain things that give them a boost in the game. While I'm going to attempt my best to not make it "ads2win" but simply a convenience thing, I think more of our projects ought to look into this new advertisement offer and see if they can implement it into their games.
Either way, just a short post today, I'm quite busy juggling a few projects at the moment and will be hosting a few contests here soon hopefully with the help of a few other people so we can populate some of these projects a bit more to make them adsense viable which should help with hive sell pressure/server costs even a little.

That sounds amazing! I've been playing a game called My Candy Love since I was 12, and since I couldn't afford it, I spent years watching ads to progress. Hehehe, now I'm a college student, I have a job, and I own my own apartment in the game, and I got it all by watching ads! Hehehe, phew!
Muy buen post! Me gustó el contenido que compartiste. Pasé a dejar un voto y decirte que sigas asi!
Would be nice to have some add revenue to support your projects. I wonder why Splinterlands has not implemented any ads in the game. I wouldn't mind the ads in game.
