In case you had doubts whether moving to Hive was the right decision....

in #thoughts4 years ago (edited)

This isn't going to be a novel. Besides my time is so limited lately that I hardly have time to even shitpost...But there are some cases, just like this one, where people need to make time and let everyone know that powering down their Steem accounts moving to Hive was probably the best decision they could have possibly made.

In case you didn't know, I am pretty sure that everyone knows by now..., but just in case you don't, most likely on Thursday, Steemit is planning a new HF. And this time it's going to be a special one...

You see probably for the first time ever if I am not mistaken, a HF that nobody can publicly review is about to be implemented. There are rumors left and right that the only thing that will change is the power down window. After all Justin's priority was and still is actually to have his funds available fast. And 13 weeks is a lot of time in the crypto world where everything can change in a blink of an eye, let alone in 13 weeks.

I don't really think that this would be a bad decision really and maybe, just maybe, we could discuss something similar for Hive and weight the pros and cons of a possible change.

BUT...

If the only change in the code will be the reduction of the 13 weeks for a full powerdown, why @steemitblog hasn't made an official announcement yet? I mean things should be crystal clear, right? Well maybe things aren't crystal clear, that's why...

You see nothing surprises me anymore. Justin could do anything at any given time...Literally anything. Things that would shock me before he acquired Steemit. Inc, now feel...normal...

We could expect anything...and if you stumbled upon @netuoso's latest tweet a new round of accounts that are about to "freeze" could take place...This could be just speculation...or the sad reality.

It's nice to spend some time writing your thoughts and be rewarded by people like @theycallmedan or @innerhive or @themarkymark and a ton of others that are on that stupid list. They have a huge stake which could trend or bury a post, and they have spent lots of Fiat / crypto to acquire it. And apparently people with big stakes are being targeted by those mobsters...for now. Next week it could be me...or you...or anyone...

Prove me wrong...

So what gives you the right you fucking retard to mess with peoples funds?

It's pointless to tag all those people. Those included on that list probably know it by now and I wish there is a way to protect your stake while powering down.

He even included @bittrix ....ya know, the troll account where @darthknight accidentally set at withdrawal route...

Maybe they thought that: "Hey, 2.5 mill Steem will be sitting there shortly...so let's just grab em somehow...

Do I sound like being paranoid? Who knows...Justin made lots of us feel this way..

I really hope that nothing terrible comes out of the upcoming HF, I really do.

If cryptos never go mainstream, it will be because of people like Justin Sun...That's what average people / investors that could push specific projects to new heights see ...and prefer to stay away from this great world.

Have a good one people and stay safe.

Sort:

You think SMTs are being included in the hardfork? That would be one reason the keep it a secret. Surprise everyone.

Developed and tested by who? All the devs are gone. Nah...something sneaky is going to happen

I really hope this is all just speculation and rumors...I really do. But the track record so far since the fork of the old chain is...Suspect. So sadly, I think a lot of HIVE community members that fought for this chain, might get screwed here by Steemit Inc. 🙁

That's the saddest part man. Those who have contributed most and fought for Steem might be punished for...what? Irony at its finest...

Steem is not bad but Justin made it bad.

Steem was great...but anything this man touches turns into ashes

just maybe, we could discuss something similar for Hive and weight the pros and cons of a possible change.

I did that in a post today and the opinions were quite balanced. Some thought a shorter power down period would be good while others have had a different view, one of them would even stretch it to a whole year if possible.

I can only believe you by word, I'm not on their curating path yet, and no matter what they said or did on Steem they shouldn't have their stakes frozen. It's like stealing money.

It's like stealing money.

It is 100% stealing money actually.

I can only believe you by word, I'm not on their curating path yet

I am pretty sure that they'll find you mate.

Now am sure it was the right decision.

The more time will pass, the more the fact that moving to Hive was a good decision will be clearer and clearer in my opion lol.

JSun is cray cray.

As for me, it a very good idea and a must do thing. HIVE is decentralized and very safe platform for all kinds of Investors to come and hustle and bustle at the same time.
