Will cryptocurrencies be adopted as a means of savings and payment by the masses? If so, when? What makes something a currency? How can a new currency become held and used by millions of people?

I hear people on the street sometimes mentioning cryptos. Especially during 2017 when price was going crazy!
Now it's a bit less common, but as the prices heat up people will take notice again. Market psychology is so weird.
Yes, there's going to be HUGE changes to the global financial system coming. The usual players are already positioned and vying for supremacy and control over the new world order, as they always are.
Cryptos are definitely moving toward mass adoption. Many people still can't see it coming. That's the nature of societal changes, though. Many people get blindsided by them.
Yeah - change is slow to come, and then fast to happen.
hehe that's a very simple way to explain it for the layperson to understand :-D
I suspect at least a few people will resonate with my personal example, but really it was just meant to make the point that mass adoption is when everyday common people start to want it, start to demand it, start to use it. And that's beginning to happen broadly now in 2019. I think by 2022 it will be a very crypto (and virtual) currency kind of world.
