Immerse yourself in a trip to Black Rock City, through the sights and sounds my dusty little camera brought back from the playa in 2008, '09, '10, and '11.

Burning Man is more than just a week-long festival of culture held in Nevada each August. It is a unique, timeless, profound human experience that defies most attempts at definition. This 52 minute documentary is my best attempt to answer the question, "What is Burning Man?"

this would not be welcome on yt or fb.....
so thank you to 3 Speak for the platform :))

The nudity would cause it to be deleted from FB, and put behind a 18+ barrier on YT.
The language would ensure it was demonetized.
The music snippits would trigger algorithms that detect copyright.
It was perfectly made for 3Speak!

And don't forget they'd probably say something ridiculous like it encourages drug use lol

LOL yup.... and of course general dangerous behaviour. Nobody can be trusted with fire anymore, for example..... bah!!

Yes, thank goodness it does! Burning Man needs more of that ;D

Upvoted and resteemed! Burning Man was one of the best experiences of my life, and I'm so happy to have shared it with you more than once. It's so bittersweet to look back on those memories...miss it so bad.

What an epic adventure Burning Man must have been! Thanks for sharing and uploading to the blockchain, @Drutter, both to document history and just for the enjoyment of watching for some and remembering for others. I wonder how many stoner chicks go to burning man? I guess they unfortunately have to hide away more and more each year...either that or sadly just conform and obey and get drunk and ruin the spirit of it.

The documentary doesn't concretely answer the question in the title.
But maybe that's fitting.

I can be heard at least a couple times in this documentary... ;P

Did you ever stop by SMRL (Spock Mountain Research Labs) for some "Hyper-whisky"?

I don't think I ever had the pleasure/horror (whichever the case may be). Sounds... exciting!?!
I did have the fortune of wandering into the SuckNFuck bar late one night, had some infused watermelon slices and watched women learn how to dance on a stripper pole. And I came across a sake bar in the middle of nowhere one year, had a few shots of that and made friends with the barkeep.
Burning Man reminded me that humans are still really human, we've just forgotten it, we're busy denying it and hiding it and pretending otherwise. Everybody there is your brother and your sister, you find your kindred spirits, magical moments are brought to you to experience, over and over. You can't be part of it and not be changed, but not changed into something new.... just changed into something you've forgotten how to be.
I wish I had pictures (but maybe it's cooler that I don't?) of an oasis we found, way out by the trash fence, at like 2am one night. Couches and palm trees, with a coffee table, that had items on it. A sign said "take what you need, leave what you don't" or something like that. A baggie of weed, rollies, and a lighter became a joint that several strangers shared. Ahhh, that was just what I had needed after several days of nothing but beer, haha. The bike ride home through the city was incredible.
