I have had this idea a while, to create a time lapse of the sky. I've always enjoyed pictures of the sky, and the various cloud formations they can contain.
This is a time lapse of the sky above me today, it's quite amazing to see the clouds moving in this way. Full video if you wish below.
But I wanted to put a unique twist on this, I still can't decide if this is pure genius or insanity - better try and fail then never try at all.
Time lapse of the sky while moving, certainly different.
Now take the time lapse out of the equation, just video of the sky is a bit different.
It's always above us, but do we ever take notice.
I'm quite sure the simple static time lapse of the sky works well, with different sky conditions it could produce some very interesting results.
With a bit of a break in the clouds and blue sky, it takes a different twist on the move.
So that is my idea anyway, let's call it Sublime Sunday sharing those little bits of madness we come up with - which could be amazing to some - and to others an @saffisara in a small lift.
For a bit of extra fun, anyone who correctly comments below how I took these time lapse videos will get a little extra comment upvote from me. Regulars on my weekly vlog should have no trouble with this.

Once I wandered, lonely as a cloud

I do like these. We have always talked about putting up a time lapse of the weather of the sea, we are lucky enough to live on it, so we have toyed with using a small camera and maybe a rasberry pi to record like 24 hours sunup to sundown.
I am a new follower, I found you in @techslut comments. I love finding people that way.
Thank you very much, time lapse can produce some amazing results - I think you could indeed make something quite amazing with a time lapse of sea weather - i will definitely look out for that one. How fantastic you find me through @techslut comments, I do love her work she produces some very high quality blog posts - and of course @mistress is just the most compelling read.
<3 <3 <3
This is why I love steemit. THIS.
And of course that Gina Bot is fantastic...either that or your stalking my comments all day long lol 😜
Gina. She's my Steemit BFF and I would miss everything if it wasn't for her.
The clouds are a combination of cool and strange. :)
I would have to say that you used a dash cam in the car, just pointed upward.
Tip!
That's pretty neat i love looking up the best photos turn out when your pointing up and clouds and sunsets i love looking at. Thinking maybe you used a Go-Pro on a selfie stick holding outside a car window...haha ...just a guess !!
Thank you, yes the sky can hold some remarkable views when we care to look at it. You are close, the full answer will actually be revealed in my next blog post.
Haha...cool will be looking for it :)
There seems to be a kind of mystique surrounding the videos with the clouds dancing.
My guess is that you pointed your dash cam upwards after getting an idea from one of my previous comments in another post here, advising you to move it downwards!
Thank you, yes the clouds move in mysterious ways - and sometimes their dance can be quite alluring. You are close, and I did see your suggestion - I'm going to move the mount further forward on the dashboard so the camera can look down more without just seeing the car bonnet!
Before I do a time lapse of clouds, I need some actual clouds in the first place. Best come to England in the summer them. :-D Maybe I'll do some animation with cotton wool instead.
Oh I'm sure life is such a struggle living in that scorching heat, cloudless sky. The endless struggle of having to wear light clothing and sun hats. It's -1 degrees and snow heavy in Yorkshire Today, I had to break the ice on the toilet at work to have a tiddle!
It bloody cold up north. Being from the Torbay, I found that the temperatures were a few degrees warmer than everywhere else. Bristol was cold though. It is brilliant in the UAE in the winter, but the summer gets far too hot. I've survived real feel of 50 degrees. That is an experience.
Good morning! @c0ff33a Your time lapse sky videos were created using the dash camera you use to create gifs for your vlog posts. You just pointed it upward on your dashboard. #sublimesunday sounds fun! Have a fantastic day!☕
Thank you very much Nina, you are close full answer in my next blog. I might have just created a new reason for people to post random and different stuff - in the name of a tag competition.
I like the idea as I like sky time laps, especially with cloudy sky. Although I have to admit the second and third Gif cause a pain in my eyes.
Regarding video, my first choice as the best would be the first one. The last video has nice music but the shooting angle has been changing too much for my taste, while the third video in the row (7 minutes long) is a bit too long for me.
So, I will stick with the first one as my personal winner (Gif & Video)! 😉🙂
Cool videos. Sky is always above us and we couldnt live without them. I think you took it while driving bike or been driven in car and edited it in sony vega or any software and sped it up :D
Thank you, you are very close but you will have to see my next blog post to find out the answer. I appreciate you taking a look at my post and leaving a comment very much :-)
So this is a challenge you are going to host...and its to do about the little bits of minutia that some people may find interesting?
I want to get it right, coz I want to promote it. Its a bit late on Sunday here now, plus the Super Bowl is going so will you remind me of it next week! I think I have the gist of it :)
I'm not really that sure Paul, I had the idea to do some timelapse of the sky - then I thought about trying to take timelapse beyond static shots - which if I'm honest just turned out a bit weird. But then while creating the post I thought pushing the boundaries would be an interesting post challenge - and Sublime Sunday sort of fit so I threw it in

this kind of posts deserved to be upvoted at 100%, when I was a kid i have a hobby of lying down on the grass on a vacant lot that usually a playground for the all the kids, and while lying down I have a habbit of staring the clouds moves and it felt very relaxing. This post made me reminisce those moments. Thanks a lot for sharing this
Thank you very much, I though only I did that when I was young! And sometimes at night to look at the stars. Thank you for your support and taking the time to comment.
Thank you for your support. tip!
Thank you very much, I truly hope you are feeling better I was very sorry to hear about your injury - hopefully it's not too serious 🙏🏼
Thank you! As the saying goes, I'm in pretty good shape for the shape I'm in. We threw all the tricks we had at it - ice, herbs, rest, physical therapy, and I am really doing very well. Glad it was wood, not cement or rock.
I actually really like this Thanks hun needs this today beautiful
Thank you very much, I just fancied doing something a bit different. Not sure it fully worked but always worth a try. Very much behind on catching up on yours and @techmojo posts but will get around to you both eventually 👍🏼
No worries hun we are not going anywhere , :) , just be lots more for you to read when you do hahaha , I do say you should do more of this photos and time lapse I am intrigued with it
Amazing my dear friend
Thank you for always calling in my friend.

Thank you very much for taking a look at my post and leaving a comment :-)
I always get very fascinated to watch the clouds, specially when I am on a flight I feel like I want to jump on the clouds and just rest over there....hahaha. As a child I used to feel if I keep walking with the clouds I will reach to the world's end :-)
Thank you very much, the clouds have always have special meaning to me...sometimes we can just look up to the sky and imagine where it can take us - or just remember who is up there looking over us...
Good post ..i really like
I hope we can sharing advice to better forward
Thank you for taking a look at my post and leaving a comment.

Time lapse are so fun!
Thank you, yes they can look amazing. I'm not sure the moving time lapse worked - but it was fun trying anyway!
when I was young I was always wondering why the clouds were moving ! and how it happens?
Thank you very much, the clouds movement still amazes me to this day. They can make some amazing patterns when you watch for a while.
it looks really very wonderful actually me too i love this have a great time buddy
Thank you very much for taking a look at my post and leaving a comment :-)
Wowwwww, so cool, I am obsessed with pictures of the sky as well. There is something about it I can't explain!
Thank you very much, I appreciate you taking the time to look at my work and leave a comment.
great post........ indeed awesome
Thank you very much, you are too kind.
Those are some great sky gifs you have going on there!!! much love from florida!
Thank you very much for dropping by, I got stuck at the love poem I'm afraid - words I'm just not so great at. Still keeping up with all the awesome entries for you 7 days of Love Competition.
I always love watching the motion of the clouds and they sure look so cool and active in your timelapses
I did a couple of times laps of sunrise last year, I must do some more this year
I think I would prefer to do some on a more sunny day - when there were only a few clouds and you could get a better view of them moving. I would definitely love to see some of your time lapses - thanks for dropping by.
Yes I think so but a sunrise can be cool as well, here is one I did
That's stunning, thanks for sharing. You definitely need to do some posts with more in.
Thanks Mate
This mornings post was a short one for a challenge as I was busy last night and didnt have time to prepare another one, but working on a larger post now
I thought I was the only one who likes taking time lapse of clouds. They're just really fun to look at and reminds me of the saying, "This too shall pass..."
You can always find something different to see in the sky, thanks for taking a look at my post and leaving a comment. :-)
Cool videos thanx dear
Thank you very much for taking a look and leaving a comment.

Nice post!! I love time-lapses of the sky. So magestic! I made some forever ago I need to share soon too :)
Btw, the moving one with the tree and power lines sometimes. PURE GENIUS.
Thank you very much, I just had the idea it would be fun to try out some time lapses for a post. Thank you for the compliment - it's a bit busy especially when the street lights and trees flash past and the twists and turns occur. I've had an idea it might work a bit better when I drive on the motorway - because you are pretty much going in a straight line - and if I hog the middle lane it should miss the street lighting either side. That's my next plan anyway! Thanks for dropping in, your support is very much appreciated.
That's a great idea! Can't way to see that power-plan in action!
and likewise my friend!! Keep it real.
Good post .. I really like
Thank you very much for taking a look and leaving a comment.
Well, I don't know how you did the timelapse, but I love the idea of noticing the way clouds shift. The sky holds so much wonder, even when it's grey. I especially love watching low clouds clinging to the mountains. :)
Thank you very much, I will reveal all in my next blog post - well at the end because it's got an entirely different subject - but I'll shoe horn it in some how. Clouds on mountains do look fantastic, I also quite like the days when I drive to work - I live high up and head down into a valley to where my work is - you can be in clear skies when I leave home, and then see the cloud lying low on the valley like someone sprayed it with foam - then you drive further down into the foggy cloud and I end up at work in thick cloud.
Clouds are cool ! for a second I though you were gonna compare cloud to feelings . They come linger around for a lil while then blow away lol. Very fascinating phenomenon lol
Thank you very much for taking a look and leaving a comment :-)
In timelapse, we can see the changes in the cloud! So awesome..I notice some time while taking pictures of the sky, one second later and I got a totally different look :-)
Thank you very much, the sky can be quite intriguing at times and you are quite right - sometimes capturing the perfect moment of the sky can be difficult because it changes so quickly. Thanks for taking the time to look at my work and leaving a comment.
I see you a lot in the comments and I got curious, I visit you and you give me a walk in the sky I like it
Happy Tuesday

Want to have your post on the map too?
Clouds move along with the wind.
If the wind blows strongly, the clouds have a tendency to move quickly, when the wind blows softly, clouds slowly moving
But I did not understand your question well
The question is how did I take a time lapse - while the camera taking the time lapse was also moving - but kept steady while moving
When you drive your car , I think you put the camera on the front of the glass,
You are very close, look out for my next blog post I will reveal the answer in that.

You took the time lapses while you were walking? hahahaha
It is interesting to see the patterns and shapes of the sky and did you know that almost nobody looks up? those of us who do it can appreciate its beauty <3
Not walking, but close. Walking would make the time lapse go very wobbly.
hmmm let me think... then you were on your bike
To be fair plenty of people tell me to get on my bike, but for this the camera was inside safe from rain or bad weather.
you was driving a car through the city
Very close, you will find the answer in my next blog post.
