In this post, I would like to explore whether there's any solution with the deck I have to turn the 2 loss battles to be the win ones, off course, with the main actor - Time Mage.

Let's see the 1st loss battle:

**Overall strategy: **

  • dual tank frontline;
  • slow down + rust the armor
  • Armor protect
  • Dual attackers

Loss Battle #1

Result: The Opponent's team is undefeatable. My team really could not tear down his line.

For this opponent's setup, there's no solution with my deck that could defeat it with life monsters.

I did try different way of line up the team and see whether there's any possibility to defeat the opponent's team with the simulation tool ==> SplinterTools - Simulation Tool

1st Trial:

  • Uses the Quix to reduce opponent's speed,
  • Use Tank with void,
  • Increase the health that those magic or range attack hit first.
  • further reduce opponent's speed and remove their armor
  • Focus tearing down from the backline

Result: 0% chance to win the opponent's team.

2nd Trial:

  • Uses General Sloan to maximize the range attack
  • Use Tank with Taunt to force opponents to attack him
  • Reduce opponent's speed and remove their armor
  • Focus tearing down from the middle

Result: again, 0% chance to win the opponent's team.

3rd Trial:

  • Uses the Quix to reduce opponent's speed,
  • Use Tank with void,
  • Use double strike card and hope can quickly tear down the frontline
  • Use magic reflect card to reflect back the attack
  • Increase the whole team's health
  • further reduce opponent's speed and remove their armor
  • Use the blast monster to increase the damage area.

Result: this is the best win rate i can get so far. but still very far away from winning this game. 22% chance to win the opponent's team.

If anybody has solution with the Time Mage and able to beat the opponent's team, please feel free to reply this post.

Let's see the 2nd battle:

Overall strategy:

  • Dual tank frontline;
  • slow down + rust the armor
  • Tank heal
  • Dual attackers

Loss Battle #2

Result: The Opponent's team is undefeatable. My team really could not tear down his line.

With the help of the SplinterTools, I tried to lineup with a different way to see whether can beat this team.

Setup focus:

  • Maintain the majority of the selection
  • Changed from dual tank to be trible tank
    • 1st tank force to taunt opponents attack
    • 2nd tank increase the whole team's health and provide backline heal
    • 3rd tank give debuff to reduce Melee and Range attack
  • Reduce opponent's speed and remove their armors
  • Use Double strike and the blast monster to expedite the damage to its frontline.

Result: 100% win rate to opponent's team.

To wrap the sharing of these 2 battles, it gave a good learning

  1. There's some type of team is pretty powerful in splinterland - mostly the full magic water team. This give very narrow window for the team which can beat it.
  2. Try to use the tanks which with different skills helps to improve the win rate of the battle.

Thank you for reading. Hope you enjoyed it.
