RE: Surviving G0.00se Eggs as Your Steemit Status Grows.

in #tips8 years ago

This post was more for people struggling and trying to keep at it... You look new.

Take a look at some of the posts on the introduceyourself trending page and see what they are posting to make so much. The first is a prime time opportunity to make your first steem-power.

I got in 18 months ago and got over 200 dollars for my first post. Took it out, then put it back in and have invested here since.

thank-you I will. I have some good ideas of what I want to post, but I wanted to understand more about how it all works before I started with posting content, so I didn't mess up!. I guess I need a bit more confidence, but I am sure that will come with time.

I listed the mistakes near the top. The easiest one to fall into is just filling a page with words and a couple of photos, clicking "post" and staring at the money part of the screen.

Most of the voting takes place in the first 30 minutes (people who make all their money on voting know about this- best curation money is made at 27 to 29 minutes old).
That in mind, be voting and answering comments - go to the list of new posts (people who you know are on line) and upvote them! Hopefully they will notice and upvote you back. I upvote every person who votes for me in the first 30 minutes.

At the bottom of your post, click where the number of votes are counted. Then right click and open each in a new tab to give them a vote.

that is very helpful thank-you!. I will be posting about things that I am really interested in, and hope that someone might have an interest in too. I do not want to be the type of person who posts without thinking about the content just to get views.

Haha.. You are learning already. I see I got a vote for my last comment.

So many people have not learned that part. Your willingness to vote sticks in peoples minds. FYI if you have a huge Steem Power balance and your vote for someone, your balance doesn't go down - ever. The money comes from the reward pool of the network.

What does go down is your daily voting power. (all public info)
Here is you as seen by the blockchain https://steemd.com/@lemondropsblue

If you notice, the raw data comes up by changing steemit.com to steemd.com and leaving your user name in the same place.

thanks, yes I try and reciprocate when I can (always polite). I actually discovered the steemd information the other day, and I am finding it very useful. I may not be able to add much in terms of value to the pool with my small steam power balance, but I am sure that will increase in the future. I aim to keep adding to that, and purchase some as and when I can afford to. I am in for the long term and see it as a form of giving back and saving at the same time
