Titanic is the greatest myth of 20th century. Titanic is a ship actually you can call it a super ship of 20th century. Its size were massive. But this great ship were sunk on 1912 and make a tragic movement in the history.
Titanic was the largest ship at the time it entered service. Titanic was the second of three Olympic-class ocean liners operated by the White Star Line. Titanic was build in Belfast by the Harland and Wolff shipyard. Titanic was under the command of Edward Smith. He went down with the ship.
In 1912 10 April Titanic was started her journey with over 2,224 passengers and crew. This journey took place only 4 days. On 14 April the ship was sank collided with an iceberg in the north Atlantic ocean. More than 1,500 people died in this incident. For that it is a deadliest commercial peacetime maritime disasters in modern history.
Titanic was carried some of the wealthiest people in the world, as well as hundreds of emigrants from great Britain and Ireland, Scandinavia and elsewhere throughout Europe who were seeking a new life in the United States. The ships first class accommodation was designed to be the principle of comfort and luxury, with an on board gymnasium, swimming pool,libraries, high class restaurants and opulent cabins. Titanic had advanced safety features such as watertight compartments and remotely activated doors. But the ship had not enough lifeboats. It only carried 1,178 peoples lifeboats. That number was half on board, and one third of her total capacity.
Hollywood's famous director James Cameron created a film "Titanic" in 1997 inspired from this tragedy. This movie was casting by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The film owned Oscar.
