Images and links are not yet enabled but we are working on it (top of the list of features)
Okay clearly everybody is used to markdown. Let's fix that too.
@kareniel: Yup, everybody is used on Steem at this point. I don't know if Steempeak's editor is open-source but it's a good case of using a toolbar to make markdown happen so that everyone is happy.
