As soon as we arrived , we took a cab 🚕 to visit the main place of northern areas point which is very beautiful and clear and attractive area. This is a spectacular place , there are so many spots to hang out, sightseeing historical places and everything within walking distance which is important. The nightlife was great, lots of lights which you never imagine in your live really. I think that 95% of the people around are tourists.

Baltoro Glacier

                          (Before you think it is Antarctic, Iceland or Alaska. Let me tell you its PAKISTAN. Baltoro Glacier, Gilgit- 
                           Baltistan)

                                        The Baltora Glaciert at 63 km in length, is one of the longest glacier  outside the polar Region. It is located in the Gilgit-Baltistan  region of northern Pakistan . It runs through part of the Karakoram  mountain range. The Baltoro Muztagh  lies to the south and east of the glacier, while the Masherbrum Mountains  lie to the south. At 8,611 m K2 is the highest mountain in the region, and three other Eight thousanders within 20 km.

The glacier gives rise to the Shigar River which is a tributary of the Indus River. Several large tributary glaciers feed the main Baltoro Glacier, including the Godwin Austen Glacier, flowing south from K2; the Abruzzi and the various Gasherbrum Glaciers, flowing from the Gasherbrum group of peaks; the Vigne Glacier, flowing from Chogolisa and the Yermandendu Glacier, flowing from Masherbrum. The confluence of the main Baltoro Glacier with the Godwin Austen Glacier is known as Concordia this location and K2 base camp are popular trekking destinations.
The trough of this glacier is very wide. Small valley glaciers form icefalls where they meet the trunk glacier. The sidewalls vary from very steep to precipitous. The glacier has carved striations on the surrounding country rocks. Moving ice has formed depressions, which serve as basins for numerous glacial lakes.

                                                                          The Altit Fort was in great disrepair, but has recently been restored by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture Historic Cities Support Programme and the Government of Norway. It is characterized by small rooms and low portals with exquisite wood carvings. Japan has contributed to the renovation of the surrounding old village. Altit Fort is a tourist site which has been open to the public since 2007.

According to the local elders white Huns from the soldier of Alexander started human settlement in Altit when they were on way back from China. It is said that these were the ancestors of the Khanu Kuts tribe of Altit. Presently, majority of households of this tribe are living within the old cluster settlement known as Burum Khan. The Khunu kuts still has the status of Saath Guy; the privilege of starting any activity/event/work/festival within the village. On the other hand, people from Hussain kuts also claim to be the earlier settler in Altit. They claim that Hussain is modified from Hun. It is said that for centuries Hussain kuts remained as a ruling and strong tribe within the village. It is narrated that this tribe was strong and thus creating troubles for the Raja of Gilgit. Therefore, the Raja with the help of other tribes ordered mass killing of the people of this tribe.

Ngar Valley Gilgit Baltistan.
The Nagar is a valley near Gilgit Valley in the Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. The Nagar District is
administratively subdivided into two tehsils namely Nagar-1 and Nagar-2. The valley is situated at an elevation of
2,438m.

Ishkoman Valley, Ghizar River, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan
The Ishkoman valley lies in the north of Pakistan in Gilgit-Baltistan bordering Afghanistan and the Pamir Wakhan Corridor. It is located at a range of altitudes, from 7,000 to 12,000 feet (2,100 to 3,700 m). The valley consists of 20 villages, with a total population of 30,000 inhabitants. Four major languages are spoken here: Wakhi, Khowar, Shina and Burushask.

Deosai, Skardu, Baltistan.

                                                  The Deosai National Park is a high-altitude alpine plain and national park in northern Pakistan. It is located largely within Skardu District in Gilgit BaltistanDeosai Plains are situated at an average elevation of 4,114 metres above sea level

Baltit Fort, Hunza Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan.

                                                                                 Baltit Fort  is a fort in the Hunza valley near the town of Karimabad in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan. Founded in the 8th CE, it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative list since 2004

In the past, the survival of the feudal regime of Hunza was ensured by the impressive fort, which overlooks Karimabad. The foundations of the fort date back to 700 years ago, with rebuilds and alterations over the centuries. In the 16th century the local prince married a princess from Baltistan who brought master Balti craftsmen to renovate the building as part of her dowry.
The Mirs of Hunza abandoned the fort in 1945, and moved to a new palace down the hill. The fort started to decay which caused concern that it might possibly fall into ruin. Following a survey by the Royal Geographical Society of London a restoration programme was initiated and supported by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture Historic Cities Support Programme. The programme was completed in 1996 and the fort is now a museum run by the Baltit Heritage Trust.
