UEFA Avrupa ligi elemelerinde İsviçre temsilcisi Basel ile Güney Kıbrıs ekibi Apollon karşı karşıya gelecek. Basel şampiyonlar liginde PAOK'a elendikten sonra Avrupa liginde mücadele etmeye başladı. Son turda Hollanda temsilcisi Vitesse'yi 1-0'lık sonuçlarla elemeyi bildi. Apollon önceki turlarda Stumbras, Zeljeznicar ve Brest gibi orta düzey takımları eledi. Üç tur geçmeleri onlar adına başarı.
