Often times men in Pakistan go out with their male friends to enjoy outdoors, hike and explore. Women unfortunately don't get this opportunity. When it comes to camping overnight, its a big no no for women even when its with their own family.
Such self imposed embargo that women can't do this and that, hurt the whole society and particularly men themselves. How? Because even men are usually not able to go out like that after their college/university days particularly when they get married. Even if they do, they will have to leave the families behind - which is also unfair to the families.
We need to accept women as equal partners in our outdoor recreation activities. For example family camping is very popular recreation around the developed world but it is practically non-existent in Pakistan. Everyone who tries it, loves it and this of course includes children. But we have deprived our women and ultimately ourselves from such a wonderful recreation.
I wanted to raise this voice in support of #InternationalWomensDay. And happy women's day to all the brave womens around the globe
