I always been anxious about letting my money on the mercy of an automated software until a friend told me to take a look at Gekko https://gekko.wizb.it/ which the awesome way it's made , the easiness of backtesting and paper trading in differents exchanges with differents pairs and the most important the easiness of coding my own custom strategy instead of the basics one.
The installation is pretty straightforward and was done in few minutes just by downloading the source code and nodejs and typing some command in the system console which are detailed in the website (if you want try it and found some problems don't hesitate to contact me ) and there is it it's running.
As you see there is 5 sections one for backtesting your strategy , one for live trading , one for importing and keeping track of pairs prices .. etc
There i started playing with the defaults strategies
So easy to play in with the parameters and the time range you want to test the strategy with different parameters try to find the winning values
and finally i got some results with a nice chart and summary of the trade made also you can see the log files for more details
not expecting to gain a lot from default strategies , i immediately coded my own strategy that i wanted to automate a long time ago and finally did it in few hours the time to get familiar with geeko who made the task so easy
running the strategy make me to 3% per day right now i am just keep watching it to put it more dollars into it
So this is my experience with Gekko so please upvote this and if you want the code of my strategy comment i will give you it it's a simple text file which you paste in Geeko files

No , Gekko is made with nodejs to add your own custom strategy you have to code it in javascript . Gekko also offer the possibility to use indicators from ta-lib or tulip it's so easy adding an indicator
