Siargao Solo Travel | Part 2

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Since Siargao is dubbed as the surfing capital of the Philippines to bad i don't know how to swim but who cares! After eating breakfast at my accommodation i went to Cloud 9 again, the habal habal driver asked me if i have tried surfing, told him no, not yet and i don't know how to swim so i'm scared to even try. He said i shouldn't miss surfing when in Siargao, said he will find me a good instructor (there are a lot of surf boards for rent in Cloud 9). Paid Php 500 instructor and board for one hour surfing lesson. Begginers has a place to surf!

After a short minute briefing im good to go! Scared but excited! It wasn't really that scary and hard.. I fell alot of times but was able to stand up on the board and it really felt good! 😊
Can't believe an hour passed that quick.

Got this wound as a souvenir! Since i'm surfing on a shallow area i landed my knee on a sharp rock.

After surfing i went back to my accommodation to fix and get my things for my island hopping.
The night before i was able to contact a boatman for my 'solo island hopping'. Paid Php1000 for the whole day, 3 islands tour including a personal photographer 😊

First stop is Naked Island. It is called that because the island doesn't have anything except for the sand... It looks more like a sandbar.

The boatman told me they have tried planting on the island bit never grew...
The sand was fine, good for swimming. Stayed for like 45 minutes only as it was really hot.

Next is Daku Island. This is where most tourist spend time longer, biggest island and place to eat lunch.

Since im a loner i just bought food in the island and rented table with umbrella.
Among the three islands this is my favorite.
This is where i stayed the longest...

Last island is Guyam Island.

Like Daku island Guyam island has benches and chairs, sand is fine and the other part has this rocky thing that looks like a small pool.
And since i rented the whole boat i decided to stay until sunset.
