In June this summer, me and my boyfriend went to Tokyo for a short trip. I had been to Okinawa before, but never to Tokyo, so it was so exciting to explore this metropole.
Tokyo is a great city with a lots of cool and crazy stuffs. There were so much impressions everywhere. And if I have to describe the city with one word, that would perhaps be BIG. The city was huge, and the travel distance between the different places were so long. It took us a long time to get from one place to another. Even when changing the metro lines, we hade to walk long long way before we reached our platform. And sometimes, the information signs were not clearly at all or was only in japanese, so it was difficult to find the right direction. I have been to metropoles like New York, Paris, London and Berlin, but never seen a metro such complicated as this one in Tokyo.

On our first evening there, we of course went to the famous crossing Shibuya to experience it in real life. Seeing all the twinkling lights there, it reminded me of other places I have been to before in Asia, such as Ximen in Taiwan, but of course this was the original and famous one. We went to Starbucks for a cup of tea and was sitting there and enjoying the view of the many people crossing the street.
Since I love animals, one of the must-do in our Tokyo trip was to visit animals caf’e. We went to a cat cafe near Akihabara and played with the lovely cats there. The cafe was very quiet and it seemed that people went there alone after job just to have a relaxing time with the cute animals. We also visited a bunny and hedgehog cafe and an owl cafe. These were not exactly what I was expected. It was actually just about petting the animals, and not about drinking coffee.
We went to Akihabara a couple of times, to enjoy the youth atmosphere, play games in the arcades and stroll around the streets. Hearing the music, sounds and seeing the lights from the arcade was pretty cool. It was like a big playground for everybody.
The best experience for me during this whole trip, was to dress up in a kawaii kimono and stroll around in Ginza, the city centre. The kimono was so beautiful. We also went to a tea house to learn how to make matcha tea by a japanese teacher, and we learnt about the history of tea in Japan. This was a such an interesting and great experience. I can highly recommend everybody who goes to Tokyo to do this.

I love to eat, especially sweets and dessert. In everywere in Tokyo, you could find those crepes stand. This was not just some normal crepes, but it was filled with a lot of different yummy things (besides from fruit and cream), such as chocolate cake and cheese cake! There were hundreds of different combinations, making it hard to choose just one. For me being crazy in crepes, I was in crepes heaven!
How about crepes with matcha ice cream, or a matcha bubble tea? Yummi!
My favorite place in Tokyo was Asakusa, the district with the temples. It was a harmony and peaceful place to be. The little streets were so cute selling souvenir and you could see a lot of girls wearing those beautiful kimono on the streets. This place felt so different compared to the city centre with tall buildings, traffic, neon lights, arcade, robots and other crazy stuffs. This was a traditional and cultural place.
During our four days, we only saw a little bit of Tokyo. We decided not to go to the Tokyo tower and the sky tree, since we read that those were only classical tourist traps. Tokyo is so big that it takes weeks to explore the whole city. We did not have time to go to Disney land or Fiji mountain as well. This will be on our to-do list next time we come back.
