Chapada Diamantina- Traveling BraSil

To reach the core of the being to understand what moves the individual and what makes him retreat.

Bahia is perhaps one of the few places in Brazil that exudes the so-called Latin American identity, to the point where it brings together people and conversations of this nature. During the trip, I met people seeking alternative ways of life, out of town and in the midst of nature.

Communal houses in the middle of the forest, solitary houses and isolated from all the rest, without walls due to the heat, open to foxes and neighboring deer. Temporary houses, fixed houses. Paths and trajectories until arriving where we arrived. Houses that still seek balance between the city and the natural. Inmate houses, which have turned their backs on the family and lost lovers!

The villages inhabited only by their natives, of dry, yellow earth, cracked with so much sun, are still destined to the tasks of the field. They are cities just passed through some natural attraction. Places of church, sidewalks, and lands. People sitting on the street, looking for shade for so much sun. Time passing slowly, quiet life. People watching the day passing by. The job of those people was just to exist.

Other villages, most wanted, were inhabited by people of all kinds and places, foreigners or not, who chose there as house. I asked myself several times, which would have led them to choose such places among so many. They chose to give up a universe of civil accounts and commitments to create a self-sustaining life, with food gathered in the yard and spring water. They chose a silent night sky and slept to the sound of wolves howling on the mountain.

Capão, Lençóis, Igatu, Andaraí, Mucugê, Ibicoara, Campo Redondo.

In one of the towns, there was a guy who had taken refuge in the forest alone. His house had no walls due to the heat. Had to walk a lot to see anyone, had no cell phone or internet. He lived only among the plants he grew.
Increasingly, more people question the tax system and try to practice civil disobedience, in search of a self-sustaining life. Mad people, wild people. They run, they jump, they change their city, they name themselves, they lose themselves, they meet, they seek, they are alive. Because they are in motion. They flee, but rather escape a social life sold on TV.

(Others leave their hometown to go to London, Malaysia, Thailand and it is as if they have not left their own room. They behave in the same way, they talk little, they listen little, they are not curious with the new culture, with the new language. They are closed on themselves and could have made a trip to their kitchen that would make no difference. Too much self-centering makes one see only himself and talk only to himself. Little tolerance for the company of others, especially those who are different and cause estrangement. They become more and more neurotic, demanding people, they believe they deserve to receive more than they deliver and they become old at the age of 25.)

Living the duality between urban and natural environment: If we spend too much time in the city, we begin to believe that we need it and the hiccups it creates. 15 days in the middle of nature, only among those who live a simple life, full of energy. I breathed in the conversations, the habits. When we returned home, we no longer remembered the password of the building, nor the pictures on the room's wall. We did not remember what clothes we had, or what made us buy them to characterize the social identity we created for ourselves. They looked more like fantasies of a period character.

He wanted to live, to acquire experience, to know and to exchange realities, new ways of living and seeing life. Seek to live truly.
Everything we've learned about life is not just someone's point of view. One sight among so many and none of me is spare. Who said we need the things we believe we do? And what if who walks in silence, without appearing is wiser?

yes, sometimes we need to question everything we think we know!52.JPG
