If to take a baby bird in hand, then his parents will cease to recognize the.

Actually the scent at birds is almost not developed. Generally they rely on sight. And anyway any bird for anything just like that won't refuse the baby bird. The myth is cast by feature of feathery parents to fly away from a nest in hope to distract attention to itself and to take away far away from baby birds. But even if this number doesn't pass, parents watch a nest from safe distance and as soon as the threat passes, come back to the baby birds.

Conclusion: the statement is false.

Yeah it didn't with our baby birds @bigshot. I have Cockatiels and have hand raised many babies, I would crop feed them, clean them up and then put them back in the nest and the parents took them back with no problems.

I do not know much about the details of the bird kingdom bigshot, I will take your word for the conclusion. What you said would make the teaching (that is what I was taught as a child) a myth which makes it a mythconception in Doug's world. Best.

So we all must return the baby birds, that have fallen from trees, to their nest!

That's true. Birds are excellent and devoted parents and will return to their young after the threat is gone. And yes, some birds don't smell very well but others have an extremely well-developed sense of smell, such as vultures and seabirds like albatrosses.... Cheers!

Congrat!!!
