It was time to move my next step of our trip i.e. exploring Pelling. Pelling – The West Sikkim Heartland of Kanchenjunga…..The city routes too many nearby tourist attractions like… Khecheopalri Lake, Rimbi River, Rimbi Waterfalls, Tashiding Monastery, Dantum Valley, Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary , Singshore Bridge etc. Its main USP is the breathtaking view it offers of the Kanchenjunga and surrounding ranges.

How to Reach Pelling:

The cheapest and most preferred way to reach Pelling is via Railway & shared Cab. The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), which is nearly 138 kms from Pelling.NJP is well connected to major Indian cities (New Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata etc.) via railways. For train bookings visit IRCTC.
Our Journey started from Sealdah to NJP by a train at night and morning we reached NJP. From Siliguri we took a cab and journey started to Pelling. From NJP, it takes around 6-7 hours to reach Pelling. SNT(Sikkim National Transport) buses are also available, but owing to a higher elevation, Pelling is better visited in shared jeeps. On reaching Pelling in the evening, we checked into our Hotel. The temperature was so freezing just 3 to 4 Degree.

About Pelling:

Pelling is divided into three parts-Upper Pelling, Middle Pelling and Lower Pelling. Maximum Hotels is situated in Upper Pelling so that you can see most of the other Backpackers and tourist roaming around you. Actually the view from Upper Pelling is the best due to its location. The middle and lower Pelling is consists with local markets that helps you to getting around as Pelling is a small town. Pelling is such a peaceful beautiful town that you can even hear the baby birds chirping. What adds to the beauty of this town is the splendid view of the mighty Kanchenjunga. But you need to be really lucky for that as the
weather at Pelling is quite unpredictable. Pelling is not so crowded , its very calm & quite. You just loved it. Just you…and a cup of Hot Tea and the breathtaking sorroundings. I had heard a lots of on the view of the Himalayan range from Pelling. But to believe, I needed to experience it. It was around 5:00 AM, as I opened the window of my guest house room, and what I saw couldn’t be described in words. The real gift of Pelling came to me the next morning which is also perhaps one of the best gifts of the lofty Himalayas from my Bed. Just open a window and you will be blessed with astonishing views of snow capped Mount Kanchenjunga…..A Nature’s Paradise. Kanchenjunga, Koktang, Kumbhakaran, Pandim, Siniolchu, Rathong, and other mountains ranges were all shining orange…..

After A heavy breakfast we started our journey for sightseeing ….Our First point to visit Rimbi Orange Garden. This is a beautiful and intricate garden covered with layers of stones along the banks of a river with small canopies of benches for rest in between. There is a ... The streaks of yellow and orange across the indigo in the diminishing twilight create a cauldron in full broth bustling and over pouring with each passing moment.
