The most relaxing place on earth...Squam Lake,New Hampshire

SQUAM

As we like to call it, is a place of peace and serenity.

My best friends family from Boston own this 120 year old house on Squam Lake. Is is nothing extraordinary, nothing luxurious by todays standards, but that is exactly what makes it special. It is by far the most relaxing place I have been. They have tried to keep it "old school", only upgrading what is absolutely necessary.

There is no TV, no Internet, no Stress.

It's amazing what this can do to mind and soul. You can shut out the rest of the world for a week, spend quality time with friends and family and enjoy the peace and quiet. It is located in a very private area as there are barely any houses nearby. A great place to swim, hike, go kayaking or canoeing and reconnect with nature.

I highly recommend the lakes of New Hampshire, or any quiet lake probably to anybody who just wants to "get away from it all"

If this place seems familiar to you, you may recognise it if you have seen the movie "On Golden Pond", and it truly is that.

Have a peak :)

If you see the hand right under the "M" of SquaM, this is called five finger point. That is where the house is located.

Wow, writing this post makes me realise how much I love this place. If you're an ocean person, give a lake a try. It has other wonderful qualities.

Until then,

Keep Calm,

Steem On,

And share the love,
