Historically, Mount Bromo, formerly Mount Tengger. Small eruptions that occurred in Mount Bromo resulted in the emergence of a large caldera with a diameter of about 8 km. The depth of the caldera makes the volcanic material trapped inside. Well the result of this eruption also formed a tunnel of magma which then raises a row of other mounts include Mount Widodaren, Mount Watangan, Mount Chairs, Mount Batok and Mount Bromo. Every year in this mountain ceremony held Yadnya Kasada or Kasodo. Usually the ceremony is in a degree at a temple that is under the foot of Mount Bromo and continued to the top of Bromo. The ceremony is held from midnight to dawn every full moon around the 14th or 15th of the month of Kasodo (tenth) according to the Javanese calendar.
