When I was a kid I used to see photos of this mosque, and I would cut the photo out and use it in an art collage. I thought it was the most amazing architecture of any building in the world. It still looks very magnificent after hundreds of years.

I used to do the same thing but with old temples and palaces in China. Actually there are quite a few mosques like this in China too in the Xinjiang region. It is a shame that there is a lot of political clout in that area, it is an otherwise very culturally rich region of China with roots differing from the majority ethnicity of the Hans.
