As we said, we would want to share with you the most beautiful places we had the change to visit, for let you know about the vibes, accesibility, design, lifestyle , in case youll arrive in these places. In the previous article we talked about Lloret de Mar, a Mediterranean coastal town in Catalonia, the first place where we stopped when we arrived in Spain. Its time to tell you about the place who stole our heart. The second place where we chose to stay for a few weeks was Marina dOr, a holiday resort located in Oropesa del Mar, Castellon, on the Mediterranean coast in Valencia. If you ever dreamed to live in an apartment on the seashore, to wake up in the morning from the sunshine, to do sport on the seashore, to enjoy the life in a healthy, clean and quiet way, in Marina dOr your dream can come true.
This holiday resort offers a huge range of possibilities for spend your time here. Accommodation in hotels from 3 to 5 stars, wonderful apartmens for rent, leisure parks, and the Europes largest scientific seawater spa, seawater helping your health and well being. Most of the surface is covered by green areas, landscapes areas for leisure and recreation, sport areas, because for Marina dOr, the tourism is on the first place. The holiday resort was designed by a businessman, called Isus Ger Garcia, in the 90s. The beach is called Les Amplaries, bordering Torre de la Sal on north and Morro de Gos beach on sud.
In this resort you will find parks for leisure, for spending free time, like: Fantasy World, Park Aventura dOr, Enchanted Garden, Emotion Park, Polynesia Water Park, and Miniclub, who offer a common games area for all the children staying at the Resort, and not only children. Also, if you are a sport lover, youll find here Multisports area, who offers you courts for tennis, football, handball, voleyball, ping-pong, golf, even mini-golf.
If you like to party and spend your nightlife out, the clubs and discos can`t escape your observation. From latino style, specific to Spain, to house or techno, music sounds loud on speakers weekend by weekend.
The apartment that we rent was spacious and very brightened, aerated, the view was to the sea, and the most important thing to enjoy the sun, it had a teracce where you can have breakfast, you can relax after hours, with a glass of wine.
In the morning, when you wake up, you can do sport on the terrace, or if you prefer to enjoy the sea breeze, you can run on the sea or do some sport there.
We had the breakfast every time on the terrace, enjoying the sun, the blue sky, with music on the background and enjoying the tasty food from Spain.
How your mind is more clear under the open sky and you are more productive, the terrace was our workplace, it was inspirational for us, that helps us become more creative.
If you arrive here, we recommend you to enjoy the quiet of this holiday resort, the quiet walks on the lit streets of Marina dOr holiday resort. Here you saw cars on and off, the majority of the tourists or burghers ride by byke, which shows again that spanish has a healthy lifestyle. Even if Marina dOr is a smaller holiday resort, here you find everything you need. You have not to go in the other city to do shopping. Marina dOr dispose of a supermarket, a universal store, where you find from home decoration products, to clothes and food, car wash, a home appliances store, mobile phone store and pharmacy. The most wanted are restaurants and cafes, where you can taste traditional dishes from spanish cuisine, fish and seafood, or the best drink we ever tried, Carajillo. Carajillo is a coffee cocktail famous in Spain and Italy. This drink is prepared combining coffee with whisky, brandy, or liqueur. According to the popular etymology, its origin dates to the times when Cuba was a spanish province. It is said that the troops combined coffee with rum to give them courage. The name of this drink comes from the word "coraje" in Spanish, hence "corajillo" and now "carajillo". This drink can be prepared in many ways, ranging from black coffee or some other type of strong coffee, to heating the spirit with lemon, cinnamon or sugar. We didnt discover the full mystery of this unforgettable taste, but we think it is added cinnamon, coffee beans and a few pieces of specific Spain fruits. If you have the chance to visit this beautiful country, don`t forget to try this drink! Surely you will order another one.
And now, we want to tell you a little about one of the most beautiful landmarks from Marina dOr. Its about Marina d`Or Gardens. Here you will find exotic vegetation from all the continents. This garden has 500.000 m2 of green space, offering waterfalls, fountains, benches, different types of fish, plants from all the world, like Olive trees, Ibyscus, Mandarin trees, Palms, or Strawberry trees. Besides these, you will find a collection of birds with attractive colours, includind lovebirds.
The bloomed trees, the path strewn with flowers, the flowered and glowing bushes and the small birds which are coming in your way, make you fall in love with this wonderful place. For more entertain, you can buy food for these fish and birds, for feed them. We were amazed how funny was to feed these different species of fish.
Its up to you if you want to spend just a couple of days traveling here, or even a few years, but, if you wish to find peace and you get tired of agitation, Marina dOr is a choice to live in silence. You will live your dream life with your family, enjoying the beach, the sea, the sand, the sun and everything you dreamed for. It`s a place that assuredly will surprise you, trust us!
