Aerial view of the Zvikov Castle, a majestic medieval castle from the 13th century located at the junction of the Vltava and Otava rivers in the South Bohemian Region, Czech Republic. A popular tourist spot, the castle is one of the most important pieces of early Gothic architecture in Central Europe.

I am really happy to see more and more great photos being submitted to this challenge every day. Yesterday was no exception, we had several awesome entries featured in the photo challenge, including this impressive image taken by our new contributor @austiclees with the following description:

Long exposure of the Troja bridge. I snuck out one night, strolled through the Stromovka park near our Airbnb and stumbled on this beauty. I must have taken 50 pictures of this bridge that night. something about it just memerized me. Hope you enjoyed.

Photo of the Gothic façade of St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague. It is a very interesting example of Gothic architecture. Its construction started in the XIV century but it was not finished until the XIX century. I used an unusual angle to take this photo.

Impressive close up! Beautiful pic!

St. Ludmila Church, a majestic, neo-Gothic Roman Catholic church at the Peace Square in Prague. There are many benches all around the square where you can sit back and enjoy this stunning view. Definitely worth a visit :) Image taken in May 2016.

Wow, beautiful shot! Great entry, thank you so much for sharing with everyone.

St. Vitus Cathedral, Prague

Erected to honour a higher power, all temples provoke this awe-inspiring feeling. This huge cathedral set inside the Prague castle is no different from that and was one of my personal highlights of my visit to the Prague castle.

Truly right when you say "awe-inspiring". Just watching this full screen makes one feel quite small. Have to visit this place the next time I'm in town.

Thanks for sharing!

regards,
esa

Definitely, the architecture is amazing! A funny fact about the cathedral is that most of it was actually built in the beginning of the 20th century using the "old style"

Absolutely superb! Have a great day and keep on steeming. Tomas

See how fortunate I am, I have nothing to do here because I have not been there any day. It is actually wrong to be born poor. I missed a lot of opportunities. @czechglobalhosts

Thank you Tomas!

Another of the many nice places that can be visited in the Czech Republic is the Šumava mountains. The Chalupská slať moss is on the photo. An image known by all tourists and from all the postcards, because it is impossible to take shot elsewhere.

i love that! something different from others! Great job.

Thank you Tomas.
I'm glad we can show the beauty of our country. ;)

Today I will show you another photograph of my last travel to the Czech Republic. I took this photo during my visit of the Střekov Castle in the early morning, before all the tourists arrived. In this photo you have a wonderful view of the city Usti nad Labem and the river Elbe. Ústí nad Labem is located in the north-western part of the land of Bohemia, Czech Republic.

Thank you so much for your great entry. Fabulous to see something little different. Tomas

Obelisk at Prague Castle

This big granite monolith is 16m tall and is a World War I memorial. It's located in one of the courtyards at the Prague Castle. Most funny fact I found about it is that it was supposed to be much taller. But during the transportation to the castle it broke into two parts :( They could only use one of the remaining parts. Bad luck I guess.

Charles Bridge is the oldest bridge over the Vltava river in Prague and also the most famous bridge of Czech Republic. Strolling across 500 m-long bridge is favourite Prague activity by tourists.

IMG_20160814_165737.jpg

Classic religious themed statue group from the Charles bridge rid in Prague center. Trying to take pictures of these during daytime is a nightmare because of other tourists barging in the shot. Good thing there was a quiet moment as we crossed the bridge that evening.

Yeah, I know what you mean...very early morning are usually the best...Tomas

On the Charles Bridge there is a statue of St. John of Nepomuk, who was tortured and then thrown into the Vltava river from the bridge. According to tradition, there is a desire (and there are many of them) to desire. You have to place each finger on these 5 stars above his head, to desire and believe in It attracts visitors very much.

Great entry Jul, thank you for that. Tomas

This is a long exposure of the charles bridge near old town. I wanted tto try to make the bridge look empty so I set up a tripod and took a few 30 second exposures. If you look closely you can see some ghosting in it from people walking too slow. ;)

Beautiful shot for cover of the magazine:)....

The head of Franz Kafka in Prague. An outdoor sculpture by David Cerny. It's an interesting sculpture which is made up of 42 Giant stainless steel plates which keeps rotating and then comes together in random patterns to form the face of the famous Czech writer Franz Kafka. This is located near Quadrio shopping centre. Interesting fact - The sculptor David Cerny made one more head metamorphosis which is housed in Whitehall Technology Park in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Great info! Thank you for that. Tomas

The church of St. Vojtech in Prague 8-Libeň (U Meteoru 599 str.), a wooden Art Nouveau sacral building from 1904 to 1905 by architect Emil Kralik. Currently it serves the Roman Catholic Church. In 1987 the church was declared an immovable cultural monument.

Wowsers! I feel honored for being mentioned by @czechglobalhosts. Thank you. After going through my library, I want to revisit Prague with my new Camera. There are so many beautiful, abstract things throughout the city, but most people are caught up in the touristy stuff. This is simply a clock on the east side of the river, south of Charles Bridge.

Well deserved!

One of the nicest points with a view of Prague. From here you can see bridges on the Vltava and most part of the city. If you move to the side and take a long-focus lens, you can take a picture of the entire line of bridges.

This is Prague's Church of St. Nicholas in Old Town Square. Not sure about the current functioning of the Church for religious affairs, but it has been the site of classical music shows, just like it was during my visit.

Embassy of Italy, Praha. The building stands on Nerudova street in Mala Strana in Thun-Hohenstain palace.

On the other side stands Romanian embassy. Church of our lady stands close to this embassy. The Italian embassy.jpeg

Happy new year Tomas and all you awesome Steemians! I've got a feeling 2018 will be big!

Here I am in my happy place (photo taken by Riana, my wife) at the entrance of a Lego Museum in the beautiful town of Kutna Hora in Czech Republic. It is a short train ride away from Prague and absolutely worth the travel.

Happy New Year Jaco! Yes, 2018 will be epic year for Steemit... I see the growth of users at 5 to 10 mil and the price of Steem at 100+....

Amen... let's hope for the best! ;)

This statue was taken in Prague's Estates Theatre and in memory of Anna Chromy IL commendatore. Anna Chromý is a famous Czech painter and sculptor. It was very interesting how they used this type of sculptor for such a pretty woman. Next time when I visit Prague, I will need to read more about her.

IMG_0018.jpg

I didn't know what was this building when I saw it last month but after some research, I think this is the High Synagogue. At that moment I just took a picture of it because it's really beautiful and different from what we are used to see. It's situated on Parizska street in Prague 1. That's the street that goes to Old Town Square and she is full of beautiful buildings.
