7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Asian Sunday week #25 – winner announcement!

@photofreediver Asian Sunday entry:

When I participated in an expedition on on the island of Sakhalin, the bay "Silent" which is in 150 kilometers to the north of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk became one of points of our travel. It has appeared the amazing place with the mountains, improbable on beauty, entirely covered with the juicy-green woods and the tender ocean washing the sandy coast. Absolute paradise for fans of quiet rest with tents, for fishermen and of course for photographers!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #25 – winner announcement!

@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:

So here is another entry from beautiful Australia again. This one is a view I found near Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. There are many viewpoints in the area, the most popular being the Three Sisters view. But if you wander along the extensive network of trails along the rim you can also find beautiful views like this, which you will have for yourself.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #25 – winner announcement!

@narchuk Tuesday of Antarctica and world´s oceans entry:

It was an amazing meeting in the Andaman Sea. Our group dived first and we were lucky to see one manta ray. But the current in that place was so strong that we spent all the air for about 20 minutes. As a result, we came to the surface at the same time when the second group just descended. And we managed to quickly change the tanks and dive a second time. The second dive was long and calm. This lasted about an hour. And at the very end, when we were about to emerge, I saw two manta rays in the depths. All I needed was for a quick dive and only 3 photos. Then I had to come up. It's amazing that no one else saw these manta rays. As if I imagined them)

It's no surprise that the majority of photos I've been posting lately in African Wednesday have come from Zanzibar. There's something so incredible about this island especially at sunset. You can see all of the boats on the water in the background here. The historic city center, Stone Town, is a World Heritage Site, rich in history and architectural beauty. If you find yourself in Tanzania, I recommend taking the trip to Zanzibar for a day or two. You won't be disappointed!

Great entry Matt, thank you so much for your contribution. Tomas

When one thinks of the desert, images of yellow rolling sand dunes come to mind. The White Desert of Egypt is nothing like that. This unique scenery of tan and chalk-white landscape is dotted with alien shapes, boulders of brilliant white which thrust up from the surface of the desert. We camped in this dramatic landscape left by an ancient ocean, far far away from civilization.

I've been to that desert 2 times already and NEED to go back. Did you sleep under the stars there? Such an amazing experience.

Yes, fell asleep by the fire under the stars before I moved inside the tent. Really unforgettable! So happy to hear that you have been to this place, which so hard to describe.

That is a stunning shot!

Thank you so much! It's a "you have to see it to believe it" type of place :)

Nice photography, well done :)

Thanks a lot :))

That is just incredible! Thank you so much for sharing. T.

Dahab is a small Egyptian town on the shore of the Gulf of Sinai. I chose this photo from there, because for me there is no place on earth where I could still plunge into the atmosphere of serenity and serenity. If you are tired of everything in the world, then you need to go to Dahab, this is absolutely true!

Ohh that's so gorgeous!

Beautiful capture! Thank you so much for your participation. Tomas

Ghost Town of Kolmanskop, Namibia

The history of Kolmanskop began in 1908 when a railway worker, sweeping dirt and debris from the tracks, found unusual stones. He had unwittingly stumbled upon one of the richest diamond deposits in the world. The town that became Kolmanskop grew at a frenetic pace.

But as quickly as Kolmanskop’s diamond boom began, it ended. By World War I, the area’s diamond deposits were depleted and the desert began to reclaim Kolmanskop.

Great entry, very interesting!

This great temple of Ramesses11 is located in southern Egypt near the border of Sudan. This entire complex was relocated from its original resting place which is now under water from the damn. What a huge mission that woukd have been to relocate this site. I took this shot to show the perspective of how big these statues realy are. Compare the man at the bottom. Such an amazing piece of history ☺

Thanks ever so much for your submission and participation. Kindly stay tuned for the winner announcement coming shortly in a separate post. T.

Great view of the columns of the Philae Temple in Egypt. This temple has been relocated because the original location was flooded a few times. So, part of a UNESCO project, the temple was moved to be preserved. I'm happy they di so I had the chance to see it.

Thank you so much for your wonderful entry. Have a great day and keep on steeming. Tomas

That is Zembra Island in Tunisia. I visited it last summer and had an amazing trip. This is the best photo of sunset that I have taken. It is a nice place to enjoy the nature and be away of the stressful city life :)

Etosha National Park - Namibia.
I was very lucky to find them. I've been 2 times in Africa but it's the first time that I've seen something so wonderful.

This is not some tree, that ladies and gentlemen is the so-called monkey bread tree, or even baobab. A tree around which many stories are entwined and which is said a lot. For example, one says that the fruits have a healing effect. In addition, it is the most impressive and largest tree I have ever seen.

Greeting Montaquila

Hmm, how interesting..... thank you so much for your entry. Tomas

African Wednesday is my favorite! This picture was taken in Tanzania near a Maasai church that I attended that was miles away from civilization on the way to the Ngorongoro Crater. It is a termite mound and some of these termite mounds grew to be 6 feet tall. These termite mounds where everywhere and came in all different shapes and sizes. They were trues works of art when you got up close to them.

I only know those from TV! Great entry Wes!

Thank you Tomas.

Life in Rabat, Morocco. Wandering through the narrow and bluish streets of Morocco's capital city is a delight and unique experience even within the country itself. It's not as crowded as Marrakesh, as there's a piece aura coming from the Atlantic.

The caress of a lioness in South Africa - this is probably the closest I've got to lions - they looked to be sharing a tender moment which was lovely to see. I just wish it were 30 minutes later so that it could have also been a "golden hour" shot but I guess the stars rarely align perfectly.

This man sat on his knees the whole day to teare apart the wool. In Meknes, Morocco modernisation isn't as I know it. People work hard and long and they don't stop when they are to old. If you have the change, visit Morocco!

Pretty obvious choice for a triangle theme is Great Pyramids of Giza, Egypt. Just using long telephoto lens have tried to make something not really ordinary...

Enjoy the scenery :)
