What a great place that is. Thank you for sharing with us.

I've posted a photo from this location before but I love it enough to post a new one. This is Wat Chedi Luang, a Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The temple began construction in the 14th Century and took until the mid 15th Century to finish. It really is an incredible piece of architecture that's been standing for almost 700 years! And I loved standing there seeing how it looked in the late day sun.

Nice, it almost looks like a pyramid!

Hongyadong is a entertainment complex at the centre of Chongqing, China, right by the Yangtze River. It is said that in Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away, the spa complex was inspired by Hongyadong. Hongyadong show cases typical Chongqing architecture, where there are multiple access to the main roads at different levels due to the hilly nature of the town - you enter the complex on the 11th floor, and can take the elevator all the way down to the ground floor and then also exit out onto the road. Hongyadong also has lots of market stalls selling traditional Sichuan and Chongqing food and snacks. It is a foodie's paradise, especially if you like chilli.

This is just insane!!! How can I compete with this picture.

Thanks for your compliment!

What a fabulous entry. Thank you so much for that.

Thanks Tomas!

The Marina Bay Sands Hotel is one of Singapores landmarks. Unfortunately it's allowed only for hotel guests to relax at the infinity pool on the top. Nevertheless it's possible for everyone to buy a ticket for the "Skypark" that is located right next to the pool. So you can enjoy the same breathtaking view of Singapores skyline from there!

DSC04179.JPG

Oh yeah, that place is unbelievable. What a piece of stunning architecture that is.

Yes, I agree, have a nice day! 🙂

Great Wall of China

This wall is huge, really huge. We wandered on the wall for several hours, up and down, up and down. Restored parts and really old parts which are covered with plants and trees and the stones are loose. When you have the chance to visit the Great Wall do it with a local or small group. You will go to a part which is really remote and you are nearly alone. Not as seen in the youtube videos where there is no space left to walk because of all the visitors.
Have a great week everybody:)

What a magnificent place the China Wall is. I certainly have to make it that way myself at some point.

This is a historic building in Banda Aceh.
The mosque which was once hit by the Tsunami in 2004 was a silent witness to the city's civilization and the mosque was also a silent witness to the war during the Sultanate of Iskandarmuda.
until now the mosque is full of historical story is a Tourist icon in the City City dubbed the Serambi Mecca City.

If you visit the Cambodian temples, you will quick realize you are never alone. As I walked in the forest near by Angkor Wat, I spotted many Buddha faces hiding here and there. It is mystical and amazing to see. The Old constructions still standing and watching over you.

There is nothing like a bit of freediving in the clear blue water of the Philippines. The visibility isn't always this good, but when it's clear it offers some great opportunities to play with sun from the depths of the reef.

What a feeling that must be, a complete freedom.

It's a great feeling! You'd love it!

I still remember touring the temples of Angkor Waht like it was yesterday. One of the most stunning and historical places on earth. Something everyone should see. I woke up at 3 am 4 days in a row to try and catch a good sunrise over the temples, finally on the 4th day I was rewarded for my patience, here is the result
angkor.jpg

Beautiful sunrise! I did not get so lucky when I was there. I can't believe you woke up 4 days in a row so early :)

Yeah it was so breathtaking, well worth the 3 day wait. It’s just one of those things that I had to check off my bucket list haha

Been so busy recently but I'm back! Here is a picture I have taken at the Shiroyama Observation Deck where you can see the whole of Shirakawa-go in Japan. It is a UNESCO site and has one of the best views in the world when its snowing. The view was absolutely stunning!

What is she looking for? The third pole! North pole, South pole, and the high mountains of Central Asia (the third pole). The highest mountains in the world formed from the collision of the Indian Plate and the Eurasian Plate. This generates really high beautiful mountains, like those here over 7,000 m in the Pamir mountains of Central Asia. Note the huge amount of ice here and living glaciers!

The brilliant blue of the Indian Ocean at Bali's Bingin Beach, famous for its powerful and challenging 5 star surf waves. This is one of the less popular beaches in Bali, known mostly to surfers and the difficult access to the beach makes it even a more secretive place.

That's a nice place, if my memory is quite good, the house are built on pilotis all along the beach and getting there is quite an adventure :) ... Sweet pics.

Thank you! Yes, that's the one - great memory! Finding the way out of there is quite an adventure as well, although not a bad place to be stuck in :)

Penang has been my favourite city of the ones I visited in Malaysia: It has delicious street food, impressive architecture, interesting history, cool street art and beautiful nature. Even the roundabouts in Penang are something special!

This photo was taken at Osmeña Peak (Dalaguete, Cebu, Philippines) last April 17, 2018. I chose this photo as an entry because though it is very simple but the feeling of being with the person that is close to your heart says it all.

Wat Hua Lamphong, located in the downtown Silom Sri won area of Bangkok, you can see the beautiful Thai architecture in a very sacred appearance. By way of the power spot for the Thai people, a lot of people come to pray. Moment I saw the building out of the subway, I myself, I felt that somehow my heart has been washed.
Not just a temple, it is a temple with social care charity! Meditate at the main temple is always peace and serene.

I met this monk in a park at the base of a mountain in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2009. Communicating with him as much as possible despite the language barrier, I was able to get his permission to take this photograph. It strikes me to consider how different our lives are, and how wide the cultural gap is between his life and mine.

The very beautiful nature of nature

Lake Barracuda in Indonesia

Lakeside Barracuda is the most unique lake I've ever found, from a depth of 0-12 meters the water is cold cold, so enter 12 meters down as if going into the sauna, the water is hot around 35C-40C, hotter than sunbathing on the beach, it feels like eggs on the stew, but had met a large barracuda fish living in a lake that water 70% tasteless, 20% salty, 10% urine, karst surrounding rocks, whatever makes the water can be as hot under cold water.

Are you sure that's your personal photo?

I had the privilege (happy accident) of being in Chiang Mai, Thailand during their Songkran festival - Thai New year. For almost a week, the streets were flooded with people AND water. Everyone loads up in the back of trucks, tut tuts, taxis, they line up on the sides of roads and roof tops, All for one massive water fight. Like, this is a country-wide water fight of epic proportions! They will use any and everything to soak each other. Water guns, garden hoses, fire hoses, buckets, trash cans, anything that can hold water was a weapon.

Now, I know very little about this festival and the meaning behind it, but from my light reading, the water fight is supposed to have some symbol of washing away each others sins.

This is my entry to the contest @czechglobalhosts and thank you for organizing a wonderfull contest.Saint Martin Island Bangladesh is a standout amongst the most suggested travel goals. What's more, the reason isn't just the Blue Sea or coral reefs yet in addition its interminable serenity. The island has no engine vehicles and consistently after 11 pm the entire island goes under an electrical power outage. That is the reason you can feel fell into nature by taking a full breath from the profound dim sky, dark Blue Sea and the quiet of the coral shoreline. Saint Martin is 8 square km choral island remote from the territory of Bangladesh and 9 km south from the tip of the Teknaf Promontory. The best time to visit Holy person Martin Island is the winter since the ocean tries to avoid panicking that time. From the earliest starting point of the November to the finish of February more often than not, traveler ships cruise and after Spring they close down their activities for next seven months. In any case, neighborhood angling pontoons dependably cruise through the ocean and numerous experience darling explorers go to the island in blustery season by these water crafts to see the ocean tempests and insane influxes of Straight of Bengal.

The trip to Kashmir Pakistan was full of wonderful places and the sunset was even more mesmerizing where ever we went.

Hi @czechglobalhosts,
This is my entry for Asian contest this week.
IMG_6118.JPG
Eyes on the oceans
In Asia, especially in Southeast Asia, the fisher men mostly uses the small boats to go fishing. They go not so far on the oceans. These small boats are usually made of wood, not metal like the big ship. That's why the fishing in these countries are considered as the dangerous job. Because there are so many unexpected things on the oceans can harm the boats like storm, hurricane, big and strong waves, etc. In our opinion, we think that every ships has its souls. Thus, we decorate them with the eyes, for the idea that it can help the boats find the way to go home in vast oceans. And it also protect the fisher men insides.
Best,
