Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of Europe.

See the winner of the last week´s European Thursday @itchyfeetdonica with the following entry:

You might have heard of Neuschwanstein Castle, which inspired Sleeping Beauty’s castle in Disneyland? This famous palace was commisioned by King Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat on a rugged cliff in 1868. What impressed me the most was how it blended into the stunning natural settings around.

Bangkok Skyline. This week I want to share a picture with you which I took roughly 24 hours ago on the KingTower in Bangkok during the sunset. It's an absolute stunning view point with a 360 view around Bangkok. Make sure to check it out when ever you are there.

@axeman Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

The Swan. Pretty stunning colorful and calm sunset at Curonian Spit, Lithuania. And wouldn't be so much interesting without the lonely swan slowly approaching to my shooting position :) Quite a perfect model for the set. Enjoy it!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #79 - winner announcement!

@mibreit-photo African Wednesday entry:

It's been a while, but I finally have some new photos. Here is one, which I took last month while travelling into the Erg Chigaga in Morocco. Erg means "Sea of Sand", which is also the title of this photo here. Standing on one of the highest dunes in the Erg I could see for miles in every direction.

Front view of the Church of Saint John the Baptist, commonly known as the Rotunda of Xewkija or the Xewkija Rotunda - a majestic Roman Catholic church found in the village of Xewkija on the Maltese island of Gozo.

I have always wanted to visit one of those northern countries that dusk lasts for hours so that I can find out if it is as magical as in Greece, that lasts only a few moments! Her is one of the most cosmopolitan sunsets in Greece at the village of Naousa, on Paros island!

This is the skyline of Valletta, the capital city of Malta. I strolled in the harbor area and caught this golden hour of the day. Those honey-toned buildings were bathing in an orangeish shade. The dome is from Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and closeby is the St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral.

Wow, postcard stuff! :)) I know exactly where you took this shot from ;)

:) I remember seeing your Valletta shots too!

Curonian Stories

Amazing calm summer sunset at Curonian Gulf, Lithuania. Not a bad foreground and just perfect reflection from the water surface. A touch of long exposure to freeze dynamics of moving clouds

Enjoy it!

My picture was taken in Munich and shows Nymphenburg Castle. Behind the castle there is a large park where you can walk. The castle belongs here in Munich to my favourite places. It makes you forget your everyday life.

Bay of Kotor, Montenegro
Walking up the mountain in Kotor is very breathtaking but worth every steep step. You will have an amazing view at the bay and the big cruising ships coming in.

I was there as a teacher on a school trip in 2012. There was another hill on the hill when we climbed the hill. And over and over. We were still climbing. I remember one student crying out, "This is a Matrix bug!"

This is one of my all time favourite Light Paintings. The shape under the monument has be come a dear special portal of light to me. I created it with a 2m long plexi tube inserted wite and red torches. The iconic place is the Monument to the Fallen Soldiers of the Kosmaj Detachment erected in 1971 at the Kosmaj Mountain Park in Serbia.

Not Photoshop effects ;-)

One of the cool things about Turkey: I can use the photos from my trip to both the european day contest AND the asian one! :)) For this day, a view from the old town, to the surrounding area of Galata Tower, and the Galata bridge; both places well worth a visit, while in Istambul!

As the most popular Church in Zagreb, St. Mark’s displays the Croatian, Dalmatian, and Slavic coats of arms along with the Zagreb’s city emblem. If you arrive here around noon you can see the changing of the guards.

View of the Auditorio de Tenerife, an impressive auditorium in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Designed by the renowned architect Santiago Calatrava, it is located on the Avenue of the Constitution, right next to the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of the most famous pieces of modern architecture on Tenerife as well as in all Spain.

This was taken inside Worcester Cathedral (pronounced Woster and not Wor-cester) in England. In many English cathedrals I've been to, there's often a section dedicated to war heroes and this one was no different. This is dediciated to the Worcestershire Regiment that fought in both world wars.

Main Square of Krakow, Poland

Sadly, I could not come to Krakow for Steemfest, but on my way back from Asia, I ended up there for a sunny weekend thanks to cheap flight connections from Jordan to Krakow and on to Germany. Krakow certainly is one of Europe's most beautiful cities!

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

This is one of my favorite picture from my birthday getaway in Barcelona last October. It was taken at the Magic Fountain. What I love of this photo is the contrasting colors of the lights and the silhouette of the people having fun!

The Eiffel Tower, Paris, France.

The Eiffel Tower is a tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France.

It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.
One of the best sights in Paris. I’d come here everyday and take tons of pictures. An architectual wonder for its time.

The Demon Hole in the Pantheon in Rome. This is a former Roman temple and now a massive church in the centre of Rome. The Romans used their exceptional concrete and building skills to build this roof. Legend has it that rain never enters through it.

A trip to Dubrovnik, Croatia is not complete without visiting the enchanting island of Korcula. Often referred to as “mini Dubrovnik”, Korcula is nothing short of an Adriatic masterpiece. The old-world architecture brings you back to Marco Polo’s era. The luminescent shores and lush countryside provide a serene escape. It’s no wonder that Korcula is a top destination for in-the-know travelers.

This is one of the places i go to relax when i don't feel so good. i just go there listen to the water and look at the beauty of the nature and it makes me feel great again. i wish i could fish on this spot but unfortunatly it is not allowed. the spot is near Esch Sauer in Luxembourg and the picture is taken by myself. Enjoy :)

Tuscany, Italy. What a great region to explore. You will try good food, you will taste good wines and you will admire great scenery. This is the view from Montepulciano, I spent a nice day there with all the tastings going around the city. Yummy!

Fairy Tale Clay Castle - Located in Porumbacu de Sus, Romania, situated 40 kilometers West of Sibiu between beautiful mountains and green grass. Is build from wood, clay, and stones. Photo taken with my Nikon D3300 camera and 35mm lens. In my opinion, almost look like a greeting card, that why I added the original Romanian name on top of the image :)
