Diveevsky monastery

in #travel6 years ago

I do not treat myself to people who believe in God, fast and try to behave as correctly as possible within the framework of religion. I try to look at such places from the outside, as a person who loves his country and respects the interests of others. Diveevo - a very famous place, and about Seraphim Sarovsky know or at least heard even those who are far from Orthodoxy.

The road from Moscow to Diveevo will take you from 6 to 8 hours depending on traffic. Is it worth it? Let us deal!

  1. Diveevo is located in the South of Nizhny Novgorod region. From the car Park of the monastery to Moscow navigators showed the figure of 432 kilometers.

  2. The monastery is situated on the banks of the river Wickins. I will begin my story with an important point that in my previous publications about Orthodox places touched upon the feelings of believers. The full name of the place - Seraphim of Diveyevo in the name of the Holy Trinity women's monastery, or Saint Seraphim-Diveyevo Holy Trinity monastery, or Saint Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, or simply the Diveevo convent. But most often it sounds a single geographical name Diveevo. During the tour, most often sounded like " in Diveevo". It's like with names: the right thing to name the man so, as he says it.

  3. After Iveria, Athos and Kiev-Pechersk Lavra this monastery is revered by the fourth earthly lot of the most Holy Theotokos. Every day there are a huge number of people. Tour groups go one by one.

  4. The history of this place is associated with the name of mother Alexandra. During the night prayer in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra she had a vision of the blessed virgin, in which she was instructed to go to the North and go around all the great Russian places. On the way to the Sarov Hermitage mother of Alexander stopped in Diveyevo, 12 miles to the destination. During the stop, the mother of God appeared to her a second time and announced that the place was found.

  5. The history of the monastery began with the laying of the Foundation of the Kazan Church, and after the construction of father Seraphim forbade to call it a parish, talking about the future expansion. Later, a mill community appeared next to the Kazan community. A few years after the death of the Seraphim community had United under the name of St. Seraphim nunnery in Diveevo. In 1861, the already expanded complex of buildings received the status of a monastery.

  6. I was very lucky to see the monastery in all its spring glory. I have no doubt that in summer it is even better, but spring allows you to show beautiful bright home.

  7. The main temple of the monastery is called Trinity Cathedral. It was built between 1848 and 1875. Pseudo-Russian style.

  8. Nearby a little far - Spasopreobrazhensky Cathedral.

  9. The interiors look very nice and modern in some places. all these are consequences of the Soviet period in the history of the monastery. In 1917 it lived 270 1474 the nuns and novices. He got a chance to exist, became an artel in 1919. Awhile...

  10. on September 21, 1927, the monastery was closed. All the clergymen settled in the district and in neighboring monasteries and churches. The relics of St. Seraphim took their place in 1991.

  11. mother of God “Emotion”, before which St. Seraphim prayed and died.

  12. As a guest of the monastery, I am very pleased to see how here take care of all their economy. Here you can see the usual life. Gardens are flat, beds are prepared, paths are cleaned.

  13. You can safely and comfortably observe the life of the clergy, and they themselves seem to be ready for a huge number of tourists.

  14. Our tour group had a blessing to shoot in Holy places, but I didn't see any bad attitude towards those who shot something on their cell phone.

  15. Except that sometimes I have a desire to see some signs. I understand that being in a religious place would be worth knowing more than I do. But unfortunately, my religious knowledge does not allow to tell, for example, about these icons.

  16. But tourism is often the income of the monastery.

  17. .

  18. There are also a couple of museums in the classical sense.

  19. As far as possible, here restored a couple of rooms from the past.

  20. .

  21. Today in a monastery works in the Annunciation Cathedral come to an end. Its construction began in 2012.

  22. And of course I can't help but mention the Holy groove. This is the most unusual place for me. The virgin in the phenomenon of Seraphim pointed to the need to build a ditch and moat around the Mill community. began to dig the groove itself, the Seraphim, and continue had only sisters. The groove was supposed to be a defense against the Antichrist.

  23. Believers had the opportunity to pass through the mound is not always. Unfortunately for the clergymen, this place has suffered several times in different years. The most cruel - Sewerage in the Soviet years.
