Travel to Moscow #16 / Vitte alley

in #travel7 years ago

I often write about the transport: Moscow bus, subway, commuter rail transportation. Today we will walk along a small street, renamed from license plate design to cross the alley Vitte. Sergei Witte, a man of German and Russian blood, born in Tbilisi (Tiflis). His career started in the South-Western railway, and later rose to Minister of Railways and later Finance Minister, and at the end of his career, he held the post of Chairman of the Council of Ministers.

  1. The alley named after Vitte appeared in the Yuzhnoye Butovo district July 17, 2001, between the streets of the Glades and the Admiral Lazarev, a parallel part Venevsky street. Near the exit from the metro station Bulvar Admirala Ushakova.

  2. Here it is, metro station. Before the advent of this mode of transport Sergei Witte did not live. Iron road is the same in Butovo is at the other end of the district.

  3. Alley beautiful landmark - complex shopping centers. They can be seen even at the first use of local subway line.

  4. Here it is, the greatest way along these typical panel houses.

  5. Crowded with cars and with lots  of people walking through the Mall.

  6. I want to say the name. I really like when on the map there are not only streets. Be here street Witte wouldn't be the same. Alleya Vitte - even sounds nicer.

  7. Although the actual alley from the street is no different. So passing and parked cars. The same house, decorated with miles of cables and air conditioning.

  8. Here trying to survive small trees planted a few years ago.

  9. And someone tree under the window. The main thing to not cut down when someone suddenly to interrupt.

  10. By the way, even one of the shopping center called "Vitte Mall". And in the foreground a small building with flags - Prefecture of the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative areas. The New authorities of Moscow did not want to sit anywhere in the village.

  11. Trade does not happen much...

  12. A little bit about whose name is on the street. In addition to a great career, Sergei Witte made the introduction in Russia «gold standard" (1897), contributed to the influx of Russian capital from abroad, encouraged investment in railway construction (including the Great Siberian way). Activities Witte has led to a sharp acceleration in the rate of industrial growth in the Russian Empire, for which he was nicknamed ‘grandfather of Russian industrialization”. The enemy started the war with Japan and chief negotiator at the conclusion of the peace of Portsmouth (the Russo-Japanese world). The actual author of the Manifesto of 17 October 1905, which suggested the beginning of transformation of Russia into a constitutional monarchy. According to officials — privy councillor (1899).

  13. Today, the work on the alley Witte is not finished yet. Do not know which street will include new houses, but here grew a community center.

  14. And next to build a shopping Gostinny complex. About it, if there is interest, I will write more.

  15. At the end of our walk we see the intersection of Glades
