Welcome back to the best celebrations in the world!
For the people that missed the first editions, travelers always like to be part of something new and unique. Traveling is all about exploring and meeting people as well as creating lasting memories.
Most people that travel don’t plan everything and go with the flow, they depend on other travelers on where to go or you can just make sure you read this post.

Within this topic of my blog I will take to the best celebrations in the world by month, so don’t confuse this post with my other series “the best travel destinations” this one will be more about celebrations hosted all around the world, so be sure not to miss out and enjoy!
Are you ready for the best celebrations in July!

UFO Festival
Do I believe in UFO’s? no I don’t, would I want to be part of a UFO festival Roswell, New Mexico. Why not? The best thing about traveling and the world is that there are so many interesting places and events to go to.
Conspiracy theorists gather for the annual festival to mostly debate the unresolved mystery of the 1947 incident in which the authorities reported a crash of a flying saucer but later revised the statement claiming the object instead had been a weather balloon. The incident provoked a controversy and cult that continues.

Nadaam festival
A guy I know here in Amsterdam is hosting our Dutch travel show in the Netherlands and he is going everywhere for work! How lucky is he? I met him many times and he shared many stories with me.
He told me one of the most fun and impressive things he ever saw were the Nadaam games in Mongolia. It features Archery, wrestling and riding. But imagine over 1000 mounted riders! The wrestling match is simple the one left standing wins!

Swan festival
Back in the days all mute swans in England used to belong to the monarch and its tradition of conducting an annual swam census dates back to the 12th century. In July a team rows up the River Thames to Oxfordshire looking for mute Swans. When they find swans the encircle them. Before catching and inspection them. After the inspection the team stops for lunch and they will pass Windsor Castle the maybe get saluted by the Queen.
The Brits are very traditional and have some weird events but fun to see if you ask me.

Hakata Gion Yamakasa
Stamina, speed and grace are all needed for this festival! Head over to Fukuoka Japan to be part of a celebration over 750-years old!
There will be over a million spectators together with you watching the main event, a 5 km circuit to race with your decorative floats witch are meters high.
The larger kazariyama floats stand over 10 meters tall and weigh over two tons. Can you imagine!? Nowadays they use floats that are five meters high and weigh one ton! So still very impressive to race with such monsters.
