It is easy to organize a day tour from Paris and visit the Chateau Fontainebleau.
You get on a train and you are there in 40 minutes. You can have a nice walk around the quiet park and enjoy the beautiful views from of the Cheateau, which has been residence of France’s Kings since the 12th century.
Less famous and luxurious than Versailles, but more rich in history and complexity, Fontainebleau is worth a magnificent place.
The park around it is wide enough to make it also a worthwhile bike ride and you can easily rent bicycles at the arrival of the train station.
Inside the castle there are many luxurious art pieces and huge corridors that remind how lavish the life of a king or queen was.
However, the gardens and the park are beautiful enough to make the visit worthwhile.
