Bandung is the capital of Indonesia's West Java province. It is set admist the volcanoes ad tea plantations. Known for its colonial and art deco architecture, this lively city is also a big university town. Bandung has many notable places for its nature and many factory outlet such as the famous Rumah mode.
Its forested areas make it a good getaways for most Jakarta residents and other travellers. There are many places to go hiking and a good walk in Bandung. Personally been to a few of them and I felt these are the ones worth the shot.
D'juanda Forest Park( Taman Hutan Raya Ir. H. Juanda)
The forest park is very rich in vegetation and beautiful trees and flora. Although the maintenance of the park is not really that good, it is by far one of the more worth to go places in Bandung. There are a couple of entrance into the park and some of them are not even guarded. The Goa Jepun ( Japanese Caves) and a couple of other caves inside the park are attractions to many visitors.
The road leading up to the park is very very narrow and it is actually a two way road, so if you are getting there in a vehicle you need to be careful. The best is to cycle up or take a motorbike.
D Pakar Cafe
On the same route up the D Juanda Forest park , is the D Pakar cafe, although it is even way further up , the view up in the cafe is really worth it all. Every visitor to the D Pakar Cafe need to buy at least one drink or a meal to enjoy sitting out Alfresco with the scenery.
Eugene the Goat Cafe
Although at a lower altitude, the Eugene the Goat Cafe is a great place to walk to and spend an afternoon just chilling out. They have really good hand crafted coffee and some home made pastries. Do drop by to enjoy with your family.
Farm House Lembang
This place is well liked by the locals for its Dutch style houses and atmosphere, being high up in the mountains make it a great place to bring your family and friends along. I like the free cup of milk which they provide for visitors. There is also a chance to dress up as in Dutch traditional costumes in the Farm House. The most important portion is the Hobbit House there which is one of the main instagrammy location in Lembang.
